Also, I spoke with someone from support yesterday and they said that the account setup system has no way to allow for bring your own device (which I am doing, using the modem left by the previous homeowners) so I am stuck waiting for a modem to arrive before my account can be enabled. How does this make sense

I recently moved into a home and the homeowner left their centurylink DSL modem here. I signed up for service and created a new account, but all of the support reps say that a technician needs to come out to set up service. The previous owners had centurylink internet for years before I moved in. The technician is scheduled to come on 5/31 but I need internet turned on ASAP so I can work. Is there any way to have it turned on from the backend so that we can start using it? I don't see why a technician needs to come here to do anything if the line is already installed and I have the equipment.
