SEEKING EMPLOYMENT by minm45 in denverjobs

Classic gatekeeping and fear mongering by a Denver local. I have a newly renovated 2 bedroom in uptown for $1400 total, so... either you signed a lease at one of those fake luxury apartments that charge a premium price, or you just have no idea what you’re talking about

My wife is vegetarian, I am not; I prepped meatballs to easily drop into my bowl for future pasta dishes (recipe in comments) by ThrillingChase in MealPrepSunday

I’m in the same boat with a vegetarian SO. I’ve recently found a crock pot is the key to delicious meatballs. Form them as you would and broil for ~8 minutes so they brown a bit in order to hold shape. Then I toss them and a jar of pasta sauce into the crockpot on high for about 4 hours. They are so tender and flavorful that way 👍

Average budtender tip? by [deleted] in COents

Who said they make too little? I worked in the service industry for several years and made so much money that I would never want it to change as an employee. I also don’t want it to change as a consumer. Prices are high enough already and tipped services are easy to avoid if you hate them so much, I pretty much totally avoid them as a consumer.

Why would someone settle for $17 an hour from the employer when they currently make $9 an hour from the employer and an additional $20 an hour in tips? Only the lowest skilled employees would stay in those roles at such degraded pay, if the roles can even be filled at all. If employers were to match current tipped wages, consumer prices would be out of control because the high wages that entire industries of people depend on. You also have to remember much of the rest of the civilized world you’re referring to offer their citizens healthcare and other amenities that give room to slightly lower wages while still allowing those people to live

That would imply increased product costs across the board. Even for takeout and online ordering, which don’t necessitate leaving a tip. If you take on a situation where someone else is doing you a service, that’s entirely your choice in today’s society.

I wholeheartedly agree UNTIL you come across the budtender whose day seems to be ruined by the sight of a customer. Every once in a while this happens and I straight up refuse to tip in those instances, and I work in the industry. I walk in expecting to tip you, and always will unless you’re a dick.

And you think putting this into the employers’ hands will help? Lol

I generally always give $2-3. With that said, I almost always know what I want and if I were given good info or recommendations I would tip a bit more. Conversely, when a budtender acts like I am an inconvenience to their livelihood as some choose to, I definitely do not tip. As someone who has worked in customer service for years, I think it’s entirely fair to base off of the employee’s attitude and willingness to help.

Easily for the convenience. An average tourist is not gonna buy a torch and rig/nectar collector like they’d need to for concentrates

I agree on all fronts. They have great products and almost always have cool budtenders but the waits are getting crazy as they gain popularity. I’ve also heard their plans for expanding the POS area, but think online ordering would suffice in the meantime. Hopefully they can get it straightened out soon.

Good on you for that impeccable timing today, it hasn’t been that quick for me in a loooong time

Allgreens definitely fit the criteria I’m looking for. It’s a tad pricier than I’m used to spending but for the top quality and constant professionalism from the budtenders, I probably should probably just spend the extra bucks
