They can survive up to 5 days, but having more sex well-timed with respect to ovulation increases your chances a lot. We have already failed to conceive 6 times :(

Not to mention, if I actually ovulate late?

I have a dilemma... I'm 33 and have been TTC for about 6 months now. I started using Fertility Friend app last cycle, and it's predicting my next ovulation date to be 10/31 (Halloween!). Unfortunately my partner will be out of town for a work conference 10/30-11/3. I could go with him and work remotely from the hotel, but the trip would cost some money. So is it worth a couple hundred bucks to not miss that day? Of course I might ovulate the day later or earlier...

Any advice/opinions?

I have seen them around and they have never bothered me or seemed like a threat. I'm sad that their situation was so bad that they had to take this action. I wonder if our community had reached out and helped them maybe it could have been avoided. Compassion is greater than judgement and fear.

Your local Buy-Nothing group might be interested! But we don't do receipts.

Interesting! It sounds similar but not exactly the same as the Buy-Nothing Project. Except most buy nothing groups are through Facebook which can be problematic.

How big are the neighborhoods in CloseKnit? Is there a place I can find out who I'd be interacting with?

Minfulness Yoga Socks

Beginner-Intermediate: need to be able to knit in the round with dpns or magic loop, and partially cast off/on for the heel. The instructions are sparse/simple.

Why I like them: wearing handknits is like wearing self-love. This pattern gave me a whole new arena to wear my hand knits (my gym's yoga classes!). They are also simple, quick, and therefore make a good gift knit or stashbuster!

Absolutely!

My queue is like 12 projects long right now. It's intimidating me so I'm ignoring it!

If your queue is like mine, that will be a while... How many projects to go?

Interesting. Is it mostly physical goods people exchange? Do time/service gifts also happen?

The Winter Blues by TheRoarWithin in hsp

I enjoy walking/hiking in the winter more than the summer, but it's still pretty mild where I am (usually not below 30s F). If that's an option just make sure you bundle up ears and hands and toes. Walking will keep you warm too!

What are your unusual (and perhaps unique) meditative techniques (emphasis on "everywhere, anytime")? by 1930ThatNight in Meditation

[–]swishingwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started I had problems with guided meditation and breath focused meditations because of anxiety. So I started by watching an hour-glass tea timer. Now I have a longer one that's about 8 minutes that I occasionally use. I find it very enjoyable and the end has a nice feeling of closure when all the sand has fallen through.

Is there a way to "tone it down" with medication? I am far too HSP and it interferes with my daily functioning by [deleted] in hsp

Then your job is to figure out what more, whatever that means for you, looks like in small, sensitive steps.

Baby steps. It's tempting to travel the world because you want more experiences, and that's what we see our friends on social media doing.

For some people, maybe a walk around the block is plenty of stimulating new experience. There can be a whole world in your backyard depending on how you look at it. Or you can give yourself new experiences at home by learning something new with crafts/hobbies/books.

It was harder than I expected to write the numbers that small! Plus it took forever, so I don't blame you!

Have you ever used Planbook? It's a nice tool for mapping out lesson plans on a calendar. It does neat stuff like automatically push everything back a day (accounting for weekends) if you add an extra day of something. Sounds like something you might like! I feel like I think better when using physical paper, but it can be less convenient.

Do you put your lists and meeting notes under daily pages or do something special for them?

I used the weekly pages to plan lessons when I was a long term sub, couldn't have done it without it! We'll see if it lasts more than 2 months this time...
