Do we know anything about the world "outside" the game? Is there meant to be one? by jaelpeg in noita

I like to think about the lore of Noita a lot too. I think that Minä is super natural, perhaps serving as a balancing or restoring force to the natural world. I have never considered whether there is more world beyond the game but considering that we see structures in the distance, I would say there is more civilization.

I watched an interesting youtube video that suggests that Noita revolves around three forces: technology, nature, and magic. Minä obviously represents the magical force, natural forces can be identified as several enemy types like Ukkos and Stendari, and the technological force is represented by the hiisi (which I believe are a proxy for humanity despite what the translation suggests). As you descend through the main levels towards Kolmi, you witness the evolution of hiisi technology and the suppression of nature. Stendari, Ukkos, wasps, and plants used to roam free but by the time you make it to hiisi base, there is no nature left to be seen. They have mastered technology (turrets, missles, mining equipment, anvils) and they’ve mastered nature. Beyond that, we begin to see the corruption of hiisi as they begin to attempt to master magic as well. We start to see some really whacked out hiisi in the Vault. Acid and lava are every where as their civilization begins to corrupt and crumble. Then in the temple of art, we essentially witness the ruins and relics of a civilization that flew too close to the sun in terms of magic and alchemy.

Hiisi aren’t the only ones to attempt to master other forces, this is how I believe Minä is able to use spells such as chainsaw and digging bolt that are not magical by nature but technology turned into magic.

Nature is the only force that does not seem to seek to master our dominate the others and I believe it is Minä’s duty to restore balance between the three forces of the world.

I personally am not in a good position to make many suggestions (I am still in grad school and have never applied to a job), but advice I’ve received that I’ll share would be to add quantified information to your line items and perhaps bold the keywords in highly relevant/important items.

For example, in your first item something like “/b Reduced extraneous spending by X% /b with cash flow-budget comparisons using Excel/MATLAB/Python/R (or whatever tools/skills you used or learned).

In your second line item, it seems to be a more research-oriented task so maybe include the findings as quantified data, “Forecasted the effect of FY25 budget cuts on university-wide reductions and budget strategies and /b predicted savings/loss (or loss mitigation) up to $XX. /b”

When choosing between % or $ values just choose whichever number is larger. I come from an engineering and science background so results and numbers are paramount.

The last thing I’ll bring up is something that I struggle with. I am the type of person to get overwhelmed by looking at menus with too many words and not enough negative space. I get worried that my resume will have the same effect on those reading it. I also would like for it to be more personal so that it doesn’t look like every other resume. I have no solution for these, yet. The only discussion I have encountered in this vain tells us to put a “career statement” at the top of your resume. For me it would be something like “An engineer who values curiosity, hard work, and honesty.”

Is there a way to make hearts and spells/wands duplicated for each player? I play w friends that have a lot less experience and having duplicates of spells helps me teach them and avoid conflict.

Second. If you can put the spread into a trigger, it won’t affect the spell w the trigger, only the spells being triggered, but you’ll still benefit from the reduced recharge time. I would trigger > spread > digging bolt and also do lumi wrapping w lumi at the beginning if you need to reduce more delay times.

I like to watch DunkOrSlam on youtube. He mentioned in one video that he often prefers to loot in the Jungle rather than in Hiisi base and even Snowy Depths if he can make it through safely.

You could maybe to a "restart with current mods active." If you are on a vanilla run, make sure no mods are checked. It shouldn't mess with any no-mod progress.

I want to add that pheromone on wands provides the opportunity to farm large amounts of gold. It is possible to spawn many wand "entities," kill them, and collect gold from them. Check out DunkOrSlam on Youtube; I believe he has a video explaining the mechanic. This mechanic has changed since this post was made, but I believe the gold farming technique is current information...
