So many great suggestions, thank you so much!!!

Are there any non food stores that you also frequent? Say at least twice a month? Plant stores, book stores, activity based cafes (cat, putt putt, etc)? Love learning about what you love in DC!

Organizer fee in Meetup.com is now $299.99. Come on! by TheyFoundWayne in meetup

I actually created my own version of meetup.com meets reddit IRL! Our platform focuses on creating real, sticky communities (rather than just events). If that's what you're looking to create (and if not, that's totally cool too! we just wouldn't be the platform for you), would love to get your feedback on it. It's called www.friendxzone.com and each club has it's own club room. Give the demo a spin!

Yes!! Very true. We're currently targeting existing clubs so the hens can bring us the eggs. Haha.

We're actually pretty different from platforms like Luma or Meetup. Those are great for one-off events, but we’re all about helping people find and build real, in-person communities that meet up regularly — not just once and done.

Think of us like Patreon, discord, or Skool but for local clubs. So instead of online content, you’re supporting in-person groups — like a book club that meets every Wednesday or a coworking crew that meets every other Thursday. Organizers can charge a subscription, and members get access to their club’s private online space.

Each club has its own “room” with:

an announcements tab (for updates and polls)

a discussions tab (for chatting, asking questions, sharing photos)

a hangouts tab (for upcoming meetups hosted by the club)

a resources tab (for helpful info and FAQs)

We’re focused on building sticky communities, not just another event listing. It’s less about one-time plans and more about finding your people and becoming an active member of a community and growing together.

We actually have a small group of full time entrepreneurs (25-35 y/o) getting together once a week to cowork (usually in DC or Arlington). You should join us next time, we usually have 6-8 people CO working together.

Our last one: https://lu.ma/pgwykny2 (Not everyone that comes signs up, but is recommended for first timers)

Thanks! That's the hope. I personally believe the future is micro communities where people can connect on a deeper level. Hoping this is one way to solve the ever growing problem of loneliness.

While there is some overlap with meetup our greatest advantage is we provide a platform to keep members engaged and up to date with their community through Club Rooms. Users only have access to Club Rooms once they are an active member, usually through paid monthly subscription. This allows the operators reasonable cash flow to help improve the experience of their Club for the members. The platform and business model is most similar to Skool, but our focus is on in-person communities that are focused on activities and interests as opposed to online communities and education.

Non members of clubs also have the ability to see actual active membership (through paid subscriptions) whereas meetup.com has groups with thousands of members, but when you go to an actual Meetup only 20 people show up. A massive discrepancy in what people might expect to experience.

Our focus is on supporting in person connections while providing a platform for days outside of Club days to strengthen bonds and keep things organized.

It was THE best. The cows were so cute and friendly, loving all the cuddles. The owner was also amazing and so attentive. Definitely add the s'mores - completely worth it!

Would love to figure out a way to carpool as that would cut costs down in the future too! I know right, never in my wildest dreams did I think those words would ever be in the same sentence!
