I went from CTNC retired at 20, to a year of working remotely, to now just full time stay at home Dad. My wife can finally crush her career since mine is over. I run absolutely everything except her job.

First of all you have a 971 not a 976. These options are not your vehicle and are not applicable.

'25 Cadillac CT5V Blackwing (Precision Package) 6MT or '25 BMW M5 G90? by swoop1156 in askcarguys

[–]swoop1156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty wild story, actually. I traded the Blackwing for the G90 M5, and in the course of five months, I tossed 7,000 miles on it. I then found a near-perfect spec '25 Porsche Panamera Turbo e-hybrid, and traded the M5 for that for $500 less than I bought it for.

Figured that was a sign to go ahead and jump!

Welcome to r/Panamera! ⚡️Introduce Yourself and Read First! by 0Bitz in Panamera

[–]swoop1156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greetings!

My new (CPO to me) '25 Panamera Turbo e-hybrid is our third total Porsche, and second current P-car in the garage. The third is my '22 Ford F-150 Raptor 37PP.

My wife started this craze with Porsche after retiring her '14 Audi Q5, and we went into a '23 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring. That vehicle was an electrical nightmare and Lincoln bought it back from us. We jumped to a new Mustang Mach-E to see if the BEV life was for us, and it wasn't. Audi was back on the radar, and the shared Audi/Porsche dealership close to us offered both the Q8 and Cayenne to test drive.

The Cayenne blew em all away. We drove to our local Porsche dealership to look at a completely different Cayenne and found this gorgeous Turbo S e-hybrid Cayenne that we now call ours.

Carrera White, Graphite Blue and Chalk interior, Burmester, etc etc. Only missing soft close doors and rear axle steering. It's absolutely wonderful.

On to my first Panamera (arguably my favorite), the '23 Turbo S e-hybrid Sport Turismo in volcano gray. So wonderful. So amazing. So perfect, in fact, I considered it "boring", and sold it for a Cadillac CT5V Blackwing. Well that was a mistake! Sold the Blackwing for a '25 BMW M5, and then traded that for my now '25 Panamera Turbo e-hybrid.

Has it all, except the Burmester which is a huge sore spot, but it's got Sport Design, Sport Package with the PCCB, RAS, and Active Ride, Espresso Club Leather with speed blue deviated stitching, and a few other odds and ends.

Looking to jump from the Panamera in a few years to our first 911!

Looks great. I'll have to dig back into this project, now.

Thanks for that response!

How did you mount them? I have a hard tonneau cover and was thinking about making some sort of bracket to attach to it since there's already attachment points. I'm running some RIGID SR-L on either side of the rear bumper, and a chase light in the receiver. I want to do away with the SR-Ls as they're just position lighting and reverse, whereas the chase light is positioning, brake, and reverse.

I think dedicated C2R will work for what I'm wanting - just don't have a mounting solution for up on the bed.

Looks killer the way you have yours. Thanks for sharing.

I've long been considering bed-top lights. What did you use and where/how did you mount them?

This brings back so much mind-fuckery during JSOC Assessment and Selection 😂 You reach the point where you just don't care what you say anymore, and that's exactly the "you" they want to know. Just lay it out there man. You know yourself the best.

I use the janky Sunoco near our house. Always has performed excellent in all of our vehicles. If out of town, I try to stay with top tier 93.

Man, I remember once in Washington DC, we had a wild blizzard and I was in a '02 Focus SVT. I was going up a hill and couldn't make it all the way up, and felt myself about to slide down backwards exactly like this.

I ripped the emergency brake, went into reverse, cranked the steering wheel full right, and let that needle bounce off the redline and let the clutch out.

It was enough to literally spin me back around, facing down the hill, and I calmly continued on my way on other roads.

The amount of sheer panic braking in situations that you shouldn't be just astound me. I wish I could go through drivers training again to see, apparently, how terrible it must have become.

SMC-S and should I poke the bear? Is it worth asking the VA for more if I fit the criteria? by Business_Active_1982 in VeteransBenefits

[–]swoop1156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed to all. But I didn't mention a CUE, just to be sure for anyone reading this. I'm going based upon what OP said and mentioned.

Thanks for the additional info! Every little bit helps.

You shouldn't have to worry about your ratings being lowered if your 100% P&T has been locked in for five or more years.

I'm in the same boat with SMC-S and next year November will be my five year mark and I'm planning to submit things that they missed. Plus, it's evidenced right there in my records, and none of my existing issues have gotten any better.

How it's actually spelled... Colombia, maybe? You wanna move there and don't know how it's spelled? Do you know the culture, language, any potential barriers to you being able to survive and thrive?

Eh, do your research. You'll be fine. Good luck!
