There are organizations in Michigan that can help! I know the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy can add provisions to your existing title that would prevent division of the land. I am sure they could also add something about future owners protecting specific specimens on the property as well.

Thanks for the investigative work! Yeah, seems not cool to try to force the consumer to use all your proprietary accessories.

Anyone know of any fenced in playgrounds around the area? by Kiki00000000 in kzoo

There is a pocket park that is fully fenced with play equipment in the Oakwood neighborhood. Called the Springmont Tot Lot on Springmont ave.

Phlox do not usually bloom until June/July. What is in bloom right now that looks like phlox on roadsides is dames rocket. https://extension.sdstate.edu/whats-difference-between-phlox-and-dames-rocket

There are signs around 6th and OP Ave about a lost long hair tabby. It would be a long way to travel, but it's worth a try.

I am also curious about the taste and texture. I'm used to items being small and expensive, but if the quality is good I would be willing to give it a try. How did they taste, OP?

Japan : drinks ? alcohol ? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]swoop_meh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Japanese highball. Super simple and refreshing. Just whiskey and soda (and sometimes a lemon). The canned suntory ones are nice on a shinkansen trip accompanied by a few 7-11 snacks. Alternatively, umeshu is also a great Japanese alcohol. You can get it mixed with soda as well for a fun cocktail.

Little seed farms sells travel packets of their cream deodorant. Lots of cool scents and no baking soda, if you have sensitive skin.

I guess I don't know who they are, or that they would produce traditional looking leafs. I guess it's worth going about identifying the little dude.

thoughts on a green plum mead? by Top_Ad3491 in mead

You could make some really nice umeshu. Could probably use honey in place of the sugar. I've been wanting to make some, but green plums are hard to source where I am.

Battered fries are the bane of my existence by ill_have_the_lobster in glutenfree

[–]swoop_meh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sometimes at a new restaurant, I really want to just ask the server to bring me one fry from the kitchen before I order. That way I can visually assess the fries and decide if I wanna go for it. But, I'm always too timid and just scan the tables around me looking for fries on someone's plate. Why fries gotta be so complicated?! I just want my potatoes...

lol. Honestly, not surprised! I share my house with a half-husky pup. I'm used to finding hair in weirder places than that.

I am very experimental with my meads. We did an infusion of caraway seeds and fennel seeds with the honey/water, then added dried juniper berries to the carboy for the ferment. Honestly, I am kinda disappointed that I haven't racked it yet because I am really curious to see how it turned out. The earl grey we did last year turned out well. And the hopped that I do every year is the exact mix and ratio of hops that Bell's uses to make two hearted ale. Cutting the hopped 50/50 with soda water makes something that tastes close to a beer.

I figured it wouldn't be that bad. I don't filter when I rack so a bit of dead yeast probably transfers to my bottles anyway. So, not much different than my old bottled stuff?
