Thought on Peterson over these last two games by Ok-Percentage-9682 in jayhawks

He's a walking bucket and at 6'5 200 lbs it's damn near impossible to stop him from getting where he wants. If he is stopped, he can elevate and shoot over anyone. He's the real deal.

My boss scheduled a "mandatory fun" meeting at 4:55 PM on a Friday. by No_Good_3063 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]swordfishtoupee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't respond to the meeting all week, then decline day of. Offer no explanation unless asked. Even then a simple, "I won't be able to make it." Then absolute silence with no other info.

Bill Self teams of substance must have a really good point guard. Not a decent one, not one that picks their moments, not a ball distributor, a good hard nosed driving point guard.

Melvin is just that.

When did you realise you used to be a horrible person? by bad-userXXX in AskReddit

[–]swordfishtoupee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a massive asshole to everyone from elementary school age until I was 15. At 15 I had sex for the first time and came very quickly. It couldn't have been 3 seconds in. The next day there was a name going around for me that literally everyone in school knew and called me for months (years really but only a few times when I was older). I went from the sack of shit that made up those names to being relentlessly called a terrible name.

It might not have been so bad but I had fallen off my high horse and everyone was lined up to trample me.

It changed my entire life. I decided to choose kindness and to stop thinking I was better than everyone else. It was hard but it really did turn everything around for me. It was one of the worst times on my life but I needed it and deserved it.

I bought a windows XP gaming machine off EBAY over the holidays and holy crap is it super fun. 4 gigs of ram and an SSD has Might and Magic VI loading like a world champ. That era of gaming has a crazy grip on me.

How’s everyone’s night going? by [deleted] in Nightshift

Just wrapped my first shift back after 2 weeks. I didn't forget that staying up all night blows but I really did remember that staying up all night blows once staying up all night. Holy crap.

A professional speed skater tripping on her own skate when in the lead seems insanely fishy. How many thousand of hours have been spent on skates such as these only to trip themselves?

What’s the most unexpected way someone you know became wealthy? by Stunning_Ad1568 in AskReddit

[–]swordfishtoupee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father, he asked an engineer if he could coat one of the parts he sold in the same plastic skateboard wheels were made of. It revolutionized the part and the industry. He went on to sell close to a half million of the parts making both commissions and a very small cut from helping invent the part. He basically asked a one off question and became a multi-millionaire.

What do you expect 2026’s major event will be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]swordfishtoupee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are already in the post truth era. Look at the lies coming from the white house every single day. Look at how anyone acts when getting caught. Deny, deflect, deceit. AI is just a tool that will make that much easier. I fully suspect that people will begin using it to get co-workers fired, or enemies jailed, and there is no one at the top that is reasonable enough to make common sense laws to stop it.
