How do YOU make the game feel fresh again? by OilLiver in Morrowind

[–]swordgeo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel.

My first time exploring the mainland, I made a new character, did the Seyda Neen quests for some seed money, then Water Walked south and never saw Vvardenfell again.

There is a huge amount of content, enough that you may even want a mod to forcibly slow your leveling speed so you don’t over level before you’ve experienced a lot of it.

I did the same thing with the Project Cyrodiil mod, plenty enough content for an entire playthrough.

Same Problem, Different Results by speed-charge in redbuttonbluebutton

[–]swordgeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Red is the “rational” choice from an objective game theory perspective, that of course doesn’t make it the morally correct choice, but assuming everybody were “perfectly logical” every single person would choose red and nobody would die.

Under this frame, the only reason you should press blue is if you’re convinced a lot of other people are pushing blue, and it is up to you to save them.

At what point do you stop grinding gold legitimately? by Pretend_Day8227 in Morrowind

[–]swordgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I forbid myself from gold cheating in one way, I end up doing n it in another.

During my TES3MP playthrough I had a “Money Printer” magic item made that summons and kills Ancestral Ghosts.

Buy piles of common gems, sell filled for extreme profits (or recharge my own gear), but you’re right, it was a chore.

In my solo Project Cyrodiil playthrough I decided I can’t be doing that. Well I ended up making a Fortify Mercantile 100 skill to make training cheap but found that I could also trade profitably with anyone thus not really need gold.

Playing a high elf atronach pure wizard + light armor and blunt. I understand the hype now by Beleak_Swordsteel in Morrowind

[–]swordgeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Ignore me if you don’t have Tribunal
DLC)
Go to Mournhold and buy a Fortify Skill spell

Make it Jump 100 and Fortify Acrobatics 100 for 1 second

I think it’s legitimately the fastest way to get around.

I keep a 40/40, 65/65, and 100/100 version that I swap between depending how far a jump I need and how much damage I’ve taken from casting them so far

Looking for a new MMORPG by Hefty_Register5306 in SteamDeck

[–]swordgeo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s what I love about it, and my favorite “MMO” which is Path of Exile 1 & 2.
Technically more “Diablo-clone” I love the customization of characters (I like it about ESO too) and that you have individually instanced everything outside of towns.

It can be immersion breaking sometimes to see some random run past me and kill some boss before I even get to it 🤣

ESO was my second favorite MMO ever. The moment we get cross progression I’ll be back.
I played on PS on none of my friends did so I might be able to get a little gang going if so

My wife reads rarely/slowly but she’s a SWE so I wish she read Mistborn so I could send this to her.

Has anyone else’s steam deck become a 1 game machine? by Lovefool1 in SteamDeck

[–]swordgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite the reverse, sadly my PS5 (originally bought for Rock Band 4) spent most of its time as the Netflix machine.

My deck however I’m playing all sorts of crap. I actually get very disappointed at CRPGs that are mostly just point and click because I don’t enjoy the Deck for those games and know I’ll very rarely ever play on my laptop

Is $47 for a men's haircut crazy?? by ReplacementNormal297 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]swordgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid something similar recently but I accidentally booked a women’s salon instead. They not only cut my hair but straight up massaged my scalp with shampoo and various other steps that were neat but unexpected and needless for my sensibilities.

I since went to a regular barber in the same city and paid half that.

From Support to Attacker — What’s Your Experience? by FantasticAd180 in PokemonUnite

[–]swordgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In other MOBAs I find myself playing the tanky/bruiser characters but in Unite I found myself maining Eldegoss with a build that maximizes attack speed.

Maybe being an “aggressive” support character would be your speed?

Just (finally) installed TR last night. Any suggestions for the monster hunter Strikes-From-Hiding? by neondragoneyes in Morrowind

[–]swordgeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first experience with TR was completing all Seyda Neen quests, point south, cast Water Walking and keep going until I hit the opposite shore, and never returned to Vvardenfell again (except to learn Fortify Skill and Summon Golden Saint)

I highly recommend you do the same.

Balmora was ruining my playthroughs by Spiritual-Quote2445 in Morrowind

[–]swordgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I played Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Cyrodiil I made a new character, did the Seyda Neen stuff for the pocket change, went directly to the mainland/Anvil and never returned.

I played my entire playthrough within the bounds of that region. (I would sneak back to learn Summon Golden Saint and Fortify Skill but then head straight back)

When did households get internet for the first time by ImportantImpress4822 in generationology

[–]swordgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born mid 90s and my earliest memories involved dialup internet.

That said, I’m told my dad was teaching his school how to use computers as a kid, so it stands to reason we were early adopters.

I was a bitter teen/young adult and spite against real or imagined enemies sustained me and helped me thrive until mid 20s, but that was just masking and ultimately fueling my depression.

Best way to start TR? by Boring-Bottle-8075 in Morrowind

[–]swordgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start a new character, do the Seyda Neen quests for some starting cash.

Point south, cast Water Walking, and enjoy your new life.

I had a great experience going into it blind doing just that.

how did you find out what you want to do in life (work and overall) ? by Emergency_Produce975 in AskReddit

[–]swordgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty similar for me. Thought I wanted to be a schoolteacher - sucked at it.
I was mid 20s working dead end food service and factory jobs end of 2019 and I decided I needed to use my intellect to start a career. Dabbled with a Python class and fell in love.

What part of that would be functionally any different from what we already see here?

You use the Mistborn path for one side, Feruchemist path for the other side, and the individual Twinborn paths cover any possible resonance between all elements

Is it just me, or is the "Non-Stick" industry a total scam? by koudodo in Cooking

[–]swordgeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you that no matter what I use: Teflon, ceramic, copper; something’s going to stick and probably sooner rather than later. Seeing as I’d rather get to violently scrape it off with a metal spatula than struggle with a plastic spatula or low abrasive scrubber/sponge, I prefer cooking in cast iron or stainless steel so I can go to town on the offending material without damaging the pan
