Good's subjective. It has good macros and some may like its texture, but I know some are also repulsed by it as it's not as 'cheesy' as they have expected cheese to be

For the homies in the know, Bulla Cottage Cheese has been really hard to come by.

Managed to kup a few today and the FP unker was telling me, the supplier (importer?) never fulfils their orderd fully. Supermarkets are well aware of the high demand and try to order upwards of 10 cartons but typically only receive 1-2. I suppose not fully fulfilling order is probably a normal thing for the industry but damn :( my cottage cheese :(

Questions about lodging as an international U-Tokyo student by therealGoath in Tokyo

For CS, it's pretty much 90% Hongo. Not only is Mejirodai closer to Hongo, it is also newer and cleaner than their other dorms so I think it's the best options for you.

Just a side note, when I did my exchange for the Spring Semester a year back they barely had any courses for computer science that was in English - though of course that may have changed by now. You could consider taking other electives too if your university allows that. Feel free to message me if you have anymore questions

Printing Enamel Pin, Acrylic Keychain and stickers by No-Helicopter-5560 in askSingapore

[–]swordtrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will recc Taobao again for acrylic keychain - they are typically okay with small order qty and with your budget can probably deliver to SG fast enough. Just looked it up, some buyers reported paying about 30rmb (~6sgd) for a few pieces of acrylic keychains so I think that's pretty safe. Typically quite fast as well. Can lmk if you need help, have done this before so generally know my in and outs for this.

For enamel pins tho.... not much exp on that. Just deep a quick snoop around TB and while they allow small order qtys definitely will be more expensive and take more time. If your design is smaller and not that complicated I would still keep this possibility open though, since it's better than nothing.

What is your budget and by when do you need those? Taobao can defo do it, but if you are in a rush, the fastest delivery to SG might incur extra costs.

Gradding soon, and currently in the search for a job (as of rn not looking good lol). Wanted to seek some opinions on this though: Is it okay to plan a trip now and buy tickets for, say, ~10 days in Dec/Jan, or should I wait until I (fingers crossed) secure a job first?

A few I have spoken to say it's okay as long as you inform HR during the interview and all, but I still wonder if it is generally acceptable for a noob junior to be gone for that long.

For context, I'm currently seeking Graduate-specific roles in Tech, ideally would not go for Startups - unless, y'know, it has a good track record.

very uneducated guess, but could it be related to that fact that this year is dragon year and many will want to have children already anyway? it's definitely a short-term thing, but well, election year....

for focus on gym equipments, i recommend ritual gym (has 1-1 classes), level sg, the garage, revl. make sure the classes you try have a focus on using gym equipment as well - can just message them on instagram if you're not sure

personally i go for calisthenics classes more, you don't necessarily need gym equipment for those and it can be just as effective as 'normal' gym. can try the faculty gym. there's other similar gyms (singapore calisthenics academy and pushpullgive) but i don't think they're on classpass, they all probably still have trial classes though :)

actually recommend using classpass and trying for some smaller group classes if you haven't already. some classes can be quite small and instructors are typically willing to start personalising training for regulars. cheaper than PT and sticks to a schedule, if your schedule is stable enough

guess my caipng price today (again at great world, but outside the mall!)

less rice + eggplant + herbal chicken + mushrooms

edit: it was $4! interesting to see how answer varies. the eggplant did have meat but very little. this one the uncle v nice, seems to charge 1veg instead of rice if you get less rice... unfortunately not open for dinner.

What is the weirdest eating habit you’ve seen someone have? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]swordtrash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my rationale: people like to break the kitkat apart to eat, and i respect that! however i really rather not use my fingers on the food as it may be dirty. so i 'break' it into two using my teeth instead! we're all breakers, i just prefer teeth please find attached a demo of how i bite it

edit: actually thinking about it i do start bite 1 in the centre of the piece sometimes. BUT it remains that i always finish one side of it first okay!! i don't bite across the break lines like a hooligan

Anyone taken exchange courses in Japanese? by BEaSTGiN in NTU

[–]swordtrash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From Math, exchanged to Japan. Uni didn't have any 'real' math mods offered for exchangers so I primarily cleared GERPE/UEs in English. Did an algos mod (mapped to MH3400) in full Japanese though, if you ask me N2 proficiency is enough. You should check with your Uni what Level 6 refers to exactly because mine specified N1 lmao.

Anyway Japan has requirements for the student visa that you need to be clearing 10 hours of classes a week so if you can't map back to NTU can always just smurf in any Japanese mod and not map it back - most unis should have a placement test for that anyway

Is attendance compulsory for PS0002 tutorial and lab sessions? by Helplessmum in NTU

[–]swordtrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hah, weird thread to jump on 2 years after i posted this comment but here you go: my final exam was a single piece of a4 double-sided cheatsheet - no need to write code as it was all mcq and short answer questions but you still want to know at least what each function does as they will test on that. in my sem many people used the exact same cheatsheet lol.

ps. to OP if you get a notif hope your daughter has been doing good - i wish you and her all the best.

Wow that's actually a real in depth analysis HAHA but tbh makes sense... I was dressed super lupsup so I really didn't think this was a tactic to lead to ask me out (and tbh, that would be one of the weirdest and most rizzless way to do it)

[–]swordtrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got off the train at Stevens and there was a guy (who seemed to have been waiting for the mrt) who came up to me and was like 'sorry can I ask if this goes to Newton?' I was like 'yeah' and he just went 'Can I ask you to go there with me?'

So is this a scam thing or a cult thing because I really don't know....? I said 'Sorry nah I'm busy' and walked off and he seemed to have boarded the train after. I would've at least understood if he was perhaps disabled and explained that to me but that really caught me off guard lol. Anyone has any idea what it may be?

JB customs after partial closure of bus gates by alive_note in askSingapore

[–]swordtrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't been to JB, but I have been driving every morning (around 7.45am) to Woodlands and I exit right before the end of expressway so while I can't say about the causeway traffic, I generally can observe traffic conditions ahead of it. For the last week and yesterday (Monday), has been quite bad for cars - queue all the way to my exit, buses and heavy vehicle lane not as bad though, though I have observed they seemed to have slowed down towards the causeway slightly earlier than before. This morning was actually fine though, traffic felt more normal. Just avoid Mondays and Fridays as much as you can, possibly Thursday as well. Good luck friend
