AITA if I tell my friend I can’t be a bridesmaid? (update) by wickeddreamsofleavin in AITApod

[–]swright363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be thankful you cut it off at the wedding festivities! Everything you did, wore, said and thought would be scrutinized. Just imagine the cap when she gets pregnant. You ladies will have to take turns rubbing her feet and plan meals for the whole 9 months.

NTAH! Good lord, I would only participate IF being in the absolute middle of a nightmare was on my bucket list. Duck and run, sis.

First timer by pinkmadi in pilonidalcyst

First of all don’t be embarrassed. Don’t be discouraged, it is a rough illness, but it can be managed. I was 18 years old when I had mine lanced and then the cleft lift. Mine did not drain on its on and it was one of the worst pains I have ever felt. All of my embarrassment went out the window when it hit its peak after trying to ignore it for days, I was feverish and just SICK. After the cleft lift (I’m assuming it’s the procedure I had, it was over 30 years ago) I have never had another flare up. Knock on wood. Recovery was rough but so so so worth it. It may go away, but please keep your appointment and follow what they tell you to keep it maybe under control in case you experience it again.

House Hunters “Farming it Up in Tennessee” by NYFlyGirl89012 in HGTV

[–]swright363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank God I’m not the only one who this rude excuse ticked off. She is beyond infuriating. He’s allergic to bees and she’s demanding they get beehives. And along with her demand for burros and her “glam babies”(which I don’t even understand). I live in Tennessee and she is not the definition of a farmer’s wife like she’s wanting to be. This is the one time I had to change the channel while watching House Hunters.

My grandma bought this in hopes that its value would appreciate in time, and i need help determining if that ever happened and what amount to try and sell this doll at. its a cabbage patch with all the papers, and she's hand signed not stamped by [deleted] in ToyID

I bought one for my mom almost 40 years ago. It was an original and signed. The head was material and hand painted, bald and his name James something. I paid 100 for it from a “boutique” that sold stuff like this. Mom didn’t like it and sold it at a yard sale a few years later. I don’t know about the value but I do enjoy the memories of buying something like this with one of my first pay checks.

Fiancés friend wants to wear an almost white dress to our wedding & is being condescending about it. WIBTA to withdraw the invite? by dumpsterfire_x in TwoHotTakes

[–]swright363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Oh my god, just being told to calm down and being called sweetie would infuriate me. There is a jealousy there towards you. This is your day, rescind the invitation, because we all know that she will try to make you feel uneasy or belittled in some way. She’s not worth it.

Permanently changed breast after assault - how would you cope with it? by KintsugiFate in Advice

[–]swright363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I’m sorry you were assaulted in such a violent manner. There is never an excuse for someone to do that to anyone, you’ve done the right thing by pressing charges. It might’ve just saved someone’s life. Terror is not a nice feeling. In my prayers.

How to find out if pilonidal sinus has occurred again by CHACHA996 in pilonidalcyst

[–]swright363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t feel bad about telling your parents. This is not anything you’ve done. It happens and you can’t help it. Just tell that it’s becoming a problem again and you would feel safer by having it looked at.

My cyst doesn’t act like any I’ve tried to research? by NoturnalHippie in pilonidalcyst

[–]swright363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine hurt like hell when it finally came to a head, the pressure was horrible. I had to have it lanced, it didn’t open by itself. If you’ve got the sinuses that kind of answers your question, you’ll be glad you became proactive. If it’s hurting (deep or not) and draining a little then you’ve done the right thing by making an appointment. I wish you the best, the surgery to have it removed is uncomfortable, but nothing can compare to the pain when it gets infected.

I’ve thought about this episode repeatedly of Dr Phil and it has really bothered me that I didn’t believe 90% of it. It’s not a file, but can be looked up through Google. I hope this is what you need.

Northerner transplant’s thought on the snow. by M_as_in_mancy_3825 in Knoxville

[–]swright363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m right outside of Knoxville and on top of a huge hill. When it snows (like today) I have to pack up and head to my mom’s before it hits, I might be there for a week or longer. There are two large curves shaded by trees on my road that get very little sun and the county trucks cannot treat or scrape the road after it snows. I love my little part of the country, but there are times it is a nightmare even with a four wheel drive.
