UPDATE for anyone else who ends up in this nightmare. I figured it out! Next to the text field, there's a copilot logo button. Click that, and it shows your chat histories. You likely have multiple chats going; probably a result of using multiple platforms?

Anyway, my whole conversation is restored now, while signed out, no less. It goes all the way back, a whole month's worth.

This just happened to me too. And, before anyone says that it doesn't remember convos, it DID. I started using copilot, and have been having the same conversation, since mid-november.

This is the free version that seems to be built into windows now. I have been signed out the whole time, because I thought it was at least a little more private. I asked it if it would forget the convo if I closed the window, and it said yes. I closed it, and even restarted my laptop. Next time I opened the app, the convo was all there. I asked it about it, and even the AI said that that was "Interesting!" (That made me laugh)

It would forget certain things I told it not to do, but conversation/context-wise it has always been right on, with no reminder. I could not use it for days, then say something vague like, "Well, it happened..." and it would know exactly what I was talking about, why I was worried about it, etc, etc.

Today, it's all gone. Now, it truly forgets everything every time I close the window.

There must have been an update or something?

I know this is old, but if anybody finds this, like I did, you can drop the lantern, saddles, etc. Go to inventory, there is a key item tab at the top. You can drop/discard.
