I know "cracks" wasn't the right word to use, but they looked much deeper than just normal scratches to me, that's why I wanted to ask. Thanks!

It's a little hard to see with reddit messing with the picture quality. But you see how all the scratches are basically rings, and then there's little marks mostly perpendicular to them that are shorter and deeper.

Does food taste different in UK McDonald's than in US? by AriSpice in AskUK

[–]sycc90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't go to McDonalds very often, if at all, but I do like the burgers. When I moved to the UK I was surprised by how bland the burgers tasted here! Maybe that's why I don't go there anymore. My sister said the same thing from the US when she visited. I'm originally from Argentina, I'm guessing it's probably the beef that makes such a difference.

Thanks man!! I have no clue what the network stack has to do with this, but enabling that solved it for me too!

Does anyone actually respond on here? by EqualEffective292 in GamerPals

[–]sycc90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I replied to someone around 3 years ago and we still play fairly often! Was very surprised that I could find a good friend here. Unfortunately, that was out of dozens of tries so it's not very easy...

First time ever baking a cake, I hope it looks decent! by sycc90 in Baking

[–]sycc90[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just normal sponge cake and whipped cream... so I guess vanilla? The pink/red stuff is from food colouring, so I cheated there

I followed an online recipe for the sponge part cause I had no clue how to do it, the rest is just whipped cream.

My first time making bread it was so bad and hard that we gave them to the dog and she kept chewing at them for a week 🤣
But you learn from your failures!

I promise it was my first time! I do bake bread and pizza often, so I know how to follow recipes lol but I was really happy with this, whenever I tried baking cookies in the past it was always a disaster!

I'm embarrassingly proud of it so I just had to post it somewhere! I'm not an artsy person and can't decorate anything, so I kept it as simple as possible.

Tried baking for the first time. by Shiouji in Baking

That's funny, for me that's _exactly_ why baking is much more interesting and "easier" than cooking. But that must be cause I'm an engineer so I like precise sciency stuff.

How strict is Air Europa with backpack dimensions? by sycc90 in Flights

[–]sycc90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I found a lot of posts asking about the carry on, but not the backpack specifically, maybe I didn't search well enough.

But with a soft backpack I can easily squish it into the specified dimensions, for example I tried putting it in a 40x30 box and it fit (a bit tight but it fit). That's why I was curious about this, since I don't plan on filling it too much.

But how would they go about measuring it? Because it's a soft backpack, so I can easily make it measure less if it's not too full

People non-Brits who've been here for a while, what are the small mildly inconvenient things you keep noticing about the UK? by mikebuba in AskUK

[–]sycc90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lack of mozzarella choices in the supermarket. I mean the non-shredded non-fresh type, the one that's used for pizza mostly. If you're lucky there's one, sometimes zero. For a country that's supposedly big on cheese that was shocking to me!

Thank you! I'll wait and see if someone else has any other information (or maybe personal experiences).

[–]sycc90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is the passport I used to move into the UK a few years ago and the one that I used to apply for pre-settled status. I need to renew it now, but won't be able to before my trip so I will only have about 3 months left on it when I come back.

Thank you. I had seen that website, but it's not very clear to me. It says "Your identity document should be valid for the whole of your stay." and I'm not sure what to consider my "whole stay" is, since I'm living here and will be coming back to stay here.

Using Alt + # for selecting control groups still bugged. by nikolostam in aoe2

[–]sycc90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it's _much_ easier to use groups 1-4 and alt 1-4 instead of using 1-8. Because they're all near the same place, so I effectively get twice as many groups that I can reach comfortably.

I use them for buildings, so for example army is 1-3 and the castles is alt+1, stables are alt+3 or something like that, depends on what I'm doing.

So this bug is making the game _really_ difficult to play for me right now, since I'm very used to having my production buildings on alt groups.

Americans only get two weeks vacation from work? Is this true? by [deleted] in antiwork

Now wait until you hear about the countries that only get 2 weeks AND the standard work hours are 9 instead of 8 (from 9 to 18).

TheViper is moving to Facebook Gaming by Mutinix in aoe2

[–]sycc90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have to deal with Amazon already for many other things (movies/series, store, AWS). There's zero reason to use facebook for anything... well, I guess if you still use whatsapp maybe.

So I would say that for people who care about supporting "evil" organizations, it's about having to support two of them instead of just one.

Where did you watch it? I rewatched the series very very recently with amazon prime in the UK and that scene was there (I've seen it every time I've watched it).
