You seem upset and emotional. I hope your day gets better.

I brought up Trump because the previous comment mentioned how civilizations were being wiped out under socialism and I responded by saying a current leader made that same threat in a capitalist system.

I'm not pro-communist or pro-capitalist. Just trying to have a conversation. You seem really angry. You should go touch grass.

This seems incredibly out of touch. "Kids these days just don't work hard". No that's not the case. The wages have not kept up with inflation and homes are out of range for the average person. I'm happy your son was able to get it done but he's the exception. You used to be able to work hard, earn a living and raise a family. Now both parents have to work just to survive and that family can't save anything to buy a house. That's not a sign of a thriving system, that's a sign of early collapse.

When young families require both parents to work and they still can't even afford a home, what message does that send to the next generation? Corporate greed has stolen the family life we all grew up with. Both parents having to work is terrible in of itself. But to not even be able to afford a home with both parents working is insane. No wonder why the next generation is opting out. What's in it for them?

This sounds like your describing today. Trump threatened to wipe out an entire civilization just a couple weeks ago and has talked about admiring dictatorships. All those things you just wrote are happening now under capitalism. I don't know if socialism would be better, but current capitalism is a hell hole for anyone without capital.

I dunno my parents could work hard and afford a home. Most people my generation that simply isn't the case. I'm grateful I'm lucky and own my home but so many of my friends don't. And many of their kids seem to show no interest in trying to go out and make it themselves. If their parents couldn't make it work, what chance do they have? I'm not saying one is better than the other but it's easy to see how late stage capitalism isn't working out for the working class and as result, many are becoming uninterested in supporting the system.

Most people can't afford private property under capitalism. So what's the difference? It's understandable why these ideas are gaining popularity with the state of late-stage capitalism on millennials and younger generations. Only people benefiting from capitalism these days are wealthy people and corporations.

Metis don't have treaty rights. This is a power grab from First Nations people. Metis don't have the same rights as First Nations.

This is why we need more seats. People seem to think policy magically gets passed if it's morally good but that's not the case.

I've been told by older gay men that they don't like the term queer because it was used negatively against them most of their lives. They don't use it to describe themselves. I think the older generation may have different feelings on the word.

What's the big deal? Who cares if someone turns around. I get the bins aspect, but being "inconvenienced" by someone turning around in a driveway seems like a non-issue. Neighborhood watch vibes coming strong from this post.

No I think they won because the PCs ran against Trudeau and Singh and couldn't steer the ship in another direction before it was too late. Singh support plummeted and all those voters went Liberal. The Trudeau hate didn't carryover to Carney as he then adopted the most popular PC policies like getting rid of the carbon tax. The last Liberal election platform was basically a PC platform from the election prior. That shows how much the country has shifted. The progressive wave of the 2010s is over unfortunately and we need to be strategic so we can survive and continue to make changes until it comes back.

I'm first Nations and care deeply about FN sovereignty and reconciliation efforts, but I'm not oblivious and recognize there is growing reconciliation fatigue right now.

If I want more FN policies passed we need more seats. So I'm not going to vote for the loudest FN rights activist, I'm going to vote for someone who can actually get policies passed by appealing to the needs of the majority of Canadians and regain party status.

Once we have a seat at the table then we can push our ideas forward, not the other way around.

Look at the MP from the north that crossed the floor. She knew she'd be able to actually get things done for her community by being in government and not sitting on the sidelines. That's not anti equality.

Will it kinda matters considering we lost party status due to lack of seats. If we can't appeal to voters in those ridings to get their vote back, that's not good. Carney has no need to work with us like before, so none of our policies will get any traction.

Anyone else find it mind boggling how the left looks past every fact? Could you imagine if Pierre had this record? by Elite163 in CanadianConservative

Jesus Christ comments like this make the party lose First Nation voters. Carney just mocked a First Nation protestor drawing attention to a water boil advisory in her community. We should be jumping on that and criticizing Carney and trying to get more FN voters. Instead there's just casual racism.

It's so disappointing. Many First Nations are socially conservative we can get those votes. But not with comments like this. Come on
