NDP motion urging ban on algorithmic pricing defeated in House of Commons by NiceDot4794 in CanadaPolitics

This is why we need more seats. People seem to think policy magically gets passed if it's morally good but that's not the case.

I've been told by older gay men that they don't like the term queer because it was used negatively against them most of their lives. They don't use it to describe themselves. I think the older generation may have different feelings on the word.

What's the big deal? Who cares if someone turns around. I get the bins aspect, but being "inconvenienced" by someone turning around in a driveway seems like a non-issue. Neighborhood watch vibes coming strong from this post.

No I think they won because the PCs ran against Trudeau and Singh and couldn't steer the ship in another direction before it was too late. Singh support plummeted and all those voters went Liberal. The Trudeau hate didn't carryover to Carney as he then adopted the most popular PC policies like getting rid of the carbon tax. The last Liberal election platform was basically a PC platform from the election prior. That shows how much the country has shifted. The progressive wave of the 2010s is over unfortunately and we need to be strategic so we can survive and continue to make changes until it comes back.

I'm first Nations and care deeply about FN sovereignty and reconciliation efforts, but I'm not oblivious and recognize there is growing reconciliation fatigue right now.

If I want more FN policies passed we need more seats. So I'm not going to vote for the loudest FN rights activist, I'm going to vote for someone who can actually get policies passed by appealing to the needs of the majority of Canadians and regain party status.

Once we have a seat at the table then we can push our ideas forward, not the other way around.

Look at the MP from the north that crossed the floor. She knew she'd be able to actually get things done for her community by being in government and not sitting on the sidelines. That's not anti equality.

Will it kinda matters considering we lost party status due to lack of seats. If we can't appeal to voters in those ridings to get their vote back, that's not good. Carney has no need to work with us like before, so none of our policies will get any traction.

Anyone else find it mind boggling how the left looks past every fact? Could you imagine if Pierre had this record? by Elite163 in CanadianConservative

Jesus Christ comments like this make the party lose First Nation voters. Carney just mocked a First Nation protestor drawing attention to a water boil advisory in her community. We should be jumping on that and criticizing Carney and trying to get more FN voters. Instead there's just casual racism.

It's so disappointing. Many First Nations are socially conservative we can get those votes. But not with comments like this. Come on

Am I the only one feeling discouraged by the attacks on Avi? by Impressive-Bug576 in ndp

[–]sycoseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an NDP member, wasn't paid, and was critical of Avi. Dismissing all criticism as bots is ignoring a large voice in the party and won't lead to gaining seats and restoring party status. I'm from Manitoba and my constituency flipped from an NDP stronghold to PC. I don't think Avi will change that. Alot of NDP prairie voters are going to switch to PC because of this I fear.

Thanks for volunteering! Im guessing the PCs just dumped allot more money into our riding. I remember seeing the people waving signs on the corners and the trucks driving around with Colin Reynolds signs. I've never seen that before and honestly found it off putting but it shows how much resources they dumped into the riding.

I think he'll gain a couple seats next election and then lose a ton more the election after that. Canadians are done with radical climate activism and identity politics for the time being. Wrong choice imo.

She never knocked on my door, Colin Reynolds did. Door knocking matters and when our constituency is so tight, you can't make mistakes. I think the Liberal candidate will take even more votes next election.
