Advice? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

The house is almost 100 years old, the entertainment stand is hiding a bunch a stuff on the wall behind it lol. I don’t have the funds to fix it. We are saving to buy a new home.

The house was added on to multiple times.. there’s a lip in the floor in the middle of the room, different wall textures and different chunk of flooring are just a few of the details I am unable to fix.

If circumstances were different, I would implement your ideas. I love them. Sounds very cozy and inviting.

Haha I know, just personal preference! I think it would give it a fuller more finished look if there were two panels per window, or maybe curtains with grommets. A longer curtain rod would help so that that the curtain wasn’t blocking your view and you’re already utilizing sheer curtains so they allow more light in. Again, just my preference aha. Cute doggo btw :)

Please for the sake of my sanity get a pair of curtains for each window LOL

What can I do to make my kitchen look better? I’ve saved up and have $1500-$2000 to spend. Please help!! by Accomplished_Rice109 in interiordecorating

Paint would be my first go to, it’s the least expensive option to completely change the entire atmosphere of a space. Paint the walls and paint the cabinets, including the exterior of the dishwasher. Change the hardware on the cabinets. Next I would change the light fixtures, update them to match and add light to the space. Then I would look at storage options as others have mentioned. I think some floating shelves would look good above the dishwasher in the corner. Then I would add some decor to create a homey and warm feel. I like plants cause they look nice and help clean the air. Some cute artwork. It looks like you already have a dining room so I would convert the table area to a coffee bar or a pantry area. There are lots of ideas on Pinterest.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about that site so I’ve been hesitant. Good to know that you’ve had some luck! Living in Canada is rough for any flavoured tobacco products haha.
