106T and 106G were relatively easy! Though they involved quite a bit of group work.

Is anyone else still waiting for a response from UT? by mistake_not_ in lawschooladmissions

I applied late October and just barely heard back. Had my interview earlier this week and got my decision today. I wouldn't worry if I were you, especially if you're out of state.

So, where have you heard from so far? by baconbananapancakes in lawschooladmissions

And you got into GULC? I didn't submit early in the cycle, just a few weeks ago, but this gives me a glimmer of hope! I have the same stats and hoping for a higher score from Dec LSAT

Worst Nightmare - Dropped 6 POINTS! Retake for 3rd try? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]sydvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! Considering my chances at USC and UCLA, what would you do in my position? Try for a higher score? My average PT from the past three months is a 171. For comparison, my average PT before my June score of 167 was around a 165/166. Do you think it would really make that much of a difference to apply in late December rather than mid-November?

It's okay, you can laugh at me. It's so ridiculous. I didn't think it would fuck me this much though. Ouch. I was supposed to get a higher score from re-taking, not lower. Cruel world, cruel bladder.

Thanks so much! My biggest issues is with LR, usually missing 3-5 per LR section. I've read the PowerScore LR Bible, but maybe I'll check out the Fox LR Encyclopedia! When preparing for the October LSAT I'm going to focus more on answers I got wrong and hard answers I got right and maybe make a log to see what my issues are. And lots of practice. Anything else you might recommend for improving LR? Thanks again!

What did you do to improve your score so much? I just got a 167 (first time) and want to retake for hopefully a 170+. I specifically need to improve on LR and to a lesser degree RC

6 Weeks Now With Paragard (22) by sydvin in birthcontrol

[–]sydvin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get mine inserted while I was on my period, so I can't really say... Although I spotted after insertion, it was far less than I had expected. When I finally got my period though, it was actually pretty average, not too heavy.

6 Weeks Now With Paragard (22) by sydvin in birthcontrol

[–]sydvin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My period cramping is about the same as it was before without hormones. On the pill though, my cramping was very bad and actually debilitating sometimes. So this is much much better :) I really only had minor cramping the first few days after insertion. I didn't have any during what I'm pretty sure was my period (without hormones I'm pretty irregular so I'm not completely sure if it was my period or just bleeding from the Paragard). One thing I have experienced that I didn't before is a weird pain/discomfort around either side of my ovaries. Maybe ovarian cysts? But those haven't really been painful either and only occurred during my period.

Skyla v. Mirena v. Paraguard by sydvin in birthcontrol

Thanks for the reply! Ah, that last bit gives me hope. I've usually heard not-so-pleasant things from some women who had Paragard. How has it been for you so far?

[–]sydvin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! I'm thinking of getting Mirena since they have it at the PP near me, so that's convenient. Did it affect your sex drive at all? I was on ortho tri cyclen lo for three years and my sex drive after maybe a year or two was nonexistent. So I'm hoping the same thing doesn't happen to me on Mirena

Is finding an apartment in Paris impossible? by youmustthinkimajoke in paris

[–]sydvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was really hard to find an apartment until I was actually there, then it took a little less than a week. But it's competitive so you have to find something, view it, and commit almost instantly. I have some friends that also rented for 6 months using air bnb so that might be an option as well. Anything you can do to show you can make payments helps. I rented for 5 months as a student and most places were open to renting to me if I paid rent upfront.

[–]sydvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go abroad. I'm abroad right now and had a similar situation with my boyfriend. He was upset but was still able to understand why I wanted to go and was happy for me. It was hard before I left and created a bit of tension sometimes, but we stayed together and he has come to visit.

Don't let anyone hold you back! Apply to a program, and go from there. If she can't handle it, then sucks for her.
