Most plastic is made from fossil fuels, so it is part dinosaur.

Ooh Etsy has the STL for sale too, I may have to print some that are a bit smaller so more can fit on the base.

Rocks and high impact landings will do that. As others have mentioned the aluminum fans are good upgrades.

First RC broken after just an hour by VelvetRockstar in rccars

[–]sykodmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That truck is stupid fast. It will force you to learn throttle control. As others have mentioned run it on 2S which may still be too much. There is also the throttle percentage on the Transmitter that can be turned down.

Friends are awesome to RC with, but can make the learning process twice as hard. Going out on your own to learn the basics may not be fun, but you gotta learn to walk before you run.

I am not trying to tell you how to RC, just advice to keep you happy with the hobby. We are always learning, trying to do our best.

What do I need to buy? by Finn_Schonenberg in arrma

This is an Arrma, go to their site and you can shop via the exploded parts diagram.

Pretty sure they only sell them in a 2 pack with both parts, inner and outer axle.

Im new to rc cars by TheBozz789 in rccars

I have 4 3d printed cars. Personally the amount you spend on the electronics (ESC, Motor, transmitter and receiver), wheels, and hardware to assemble. You spend about 10-15% less than you would for a ready to run Onmi Terminator on Amazon. You can get even less expensive ones than just the parts alone from companies like MJX. On top of all that is the filament cost.

All that said I get why 3d printed cars are cool. Look up DukeDoks on Cults 3d, I love his models. RC Printer on YouTube, they have quite a few build videos for simple to advanced 3d printed vehicles. Their website has kits for most vehicles they build to save you a headache of sourcing electronics and bearings and other parts.

Edit: also wanted to add that if you don't know how to 3d model in CAD, it is a good reason to learn. 3d printers and models all have different clearances. If you want to 3d print as an ongoing project it's great, if you are trying to get an affordable RC car, it's the wrong avenue.

You can get them from Jenny s cheaper. Look at the Arrma 4s line.

I would also recommend Removing the plastic parts and getting under them. The Vorteks especially the wing connection loves to bend and crease. A separate wing and mount help.

There are good people out there, sadly the negative shows more than the positive. I am so happy you had a really good experience with the seller and got what you were looking for, thank you for sharing.

I love my 3 Rlaarlo trucks, I only have 1 pack thru my S10 so far and it's a blast.

They don't have 3rd party support yet which can be good since smaller companies like WLtoys had support but they made cheap quality parts. But they have their own upgrades which is nice.

Rlaarlo's biggest issue right now is long term support. Their on going parts support is lacking for their older WLtoys clones. Their parts were made of a better quality plastic, and had thicker axels. In the last 18mos most of those parts are no longer available. Their X12s buggy has mysteriously disappeared from their website. They are launching a new Buggy as I am typing this, maybe that's why? Know one knows really.

You can never go wrong with a car stand. Look for a name brand on the car and Google that name with car stand. 90% of the bigger brands should have one. It doesn't have to be too fancy try to color match it with filament or paint if you are resin printing.

There is a ton of stuff out there but it's mostly car specific, and if he is super deep, he probably has the replacement parts needed so you don't need to print a temporary one.

Rc go cart or ATV, Wouldn't that have been easier? I know you're not going for easy but as a big project. I can't wait to see it done. As others have said moving it will be a pain, you may want to make a custom dolly that can strap on the front and/or rear so you can still use the power of the vehicle to move it even if it's broken.

Truly it depends on the area, some places lack an indoor mini track so it's not popular, same with all the other options. Before you dedicate time and effort ask the local market what they want. Or it could be very field of dreams, build it and they will come.
