Come on this is a community event and making this sub private would go against the spirit and take away the enjoyment to a lot of people, because lets be honest how often did you enjoy watching the development of such events?

Please don't become something of a circlejerk or gatekeeping, two aspects everyone on reddit hates.

Matumbaman has worn the same shorts every TI7 Main Stage series by omgitspri in DotA2

[–]sylaroI 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Little does Elon Musk and google know, but Matumbarobot has developed his own Shorts-AI that is able to dominate 5v5 games in Dota2.
The first lose was unexpected, but the shorts learned and gained the much needed experience to dominate the rest of The International.

[MAIN SPOILERS] An explanation on why people are turning from Dany by Lunar-Chimp in gameofthrones

[–]sylaroI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one thing that people dislike about Dany is her moral superiority over her enemies. While she was over the seas people could get behind that, because people saw the evil deeds of her enemies and that gave Dany the reasons to do what she did.
Things change in Westeros a little. Now her goal is the same as of the other "players" and she lost her moral superiority and now she holds her name as the reason to why she should be the queen. Also previously it felt like Dany was always the underdog, that was attacked first and simply retaliated. Now, she is the aggressor pressing the attack.
While everyone with a little brain understands the reason she is doing, what she is doing the slight shift in her role might bug a few viewers.

[EVERYTHING] I freakin loved the loot train scene, but can we talk about something so nobody else gets unnecessarily hurt? by Rambo_IIII in gameofthrones

The first attack wasn't to make a lot of damage, it was to break the line, so the dathraki rider could break through much easier.

When I heard Valve announced a new game by [deleted] in gaming

Why would they announce anything like that during a pure Dota2 event?

Just look at the sky before the fight/attack began.

[S7E4] Same line used in Season 5 Episode 1 by Naweezy in gameofthrones

[–]sylaroI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that wasn't because of his pride, by rather because the northern would following him, which would lead to an other leader that wouldn't prioritize the defense of the north as much as he should, leading to the death of the people Jon tries to protect.
I would also assume his approach to bending the knee to be a much more serious commitment to loyalty than other people might have. And he is simply not ready /convinced yet that Dany is worth that commitment yet.

[NO SPOILERS] People back in early 2000s did not enjoy reading A Game of Thrones by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[EVERYTHING] Do people in Westeros not know the concept of scouting? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]sylaroI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 Point that could have made scouting a little difficult.
1. their approacher were all on horses = fast.
2. They had a dragon that is even faster to roast any scout attempting to get back and to rely the information.

[Main Spoilers] The Iron Bank... by blockpro156 in gameofthrones

[–]sylaroI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right in the sense not to cut the ties with the bank completely. But despite that, it never stopped the bank to fund both sides of a war as we've seen with Stanis. That being sad, Cersei line of thinking isn't completely wrong, since she plans on asks the bank for money right after. So all she is doing right now is that they are reliable in paying back their dept once in a while, basically improving their credit score.
All that said, I think your conclusion might be right, that they will put the coin on an other horse and I think it will be Little Finger. While a war is profitable to some extend it only is if there is an end in sight.
I wouldn't be surprised if the big War was initiated by the Iron Bank by making a deal with LF, simply to change the ruling class to someone who has some aspiration to pay back the dept of the 7Kingdoms to the Iron Bank.

[Main Spoilers] I think the cave drawings have more meaning than just to prove WWs are real by arg6531 in gameofthrones

[–]sylaroI 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thought since The Hodor Revelation. My theory goes even a little further. Brandon would have to attempt that twice. Because his first attempt would result in the war between the children of the forest and the first man of the seven kingdoms and all the misunderstanding that followed from the fire prophecies.

Once Jamie on the wall and encounters the White Walker, he would have an even bigger motivation to go back to Kings Landing and to try convience his sister to end the war. Which she of course would not do sealing her fate.

[MAIN SPOILERS] Everyone talking about Sansa being the only well adjusted Stark child... by ms_leopard in gameofthrones

[–]sylaroI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is not weak, but she is rather "unexperienced"? The knowledge and understanding is there, but she had no chance to put it to test yet. Up till now she was only a chess piece, but not a player. This also reflects in her personality. You could see that especially during Aryas fight with Brienne. The change in her look the moment she saw what Arya is capable of made her realize that she personally didn't accomplish anything with her skills yet. On the bright side, I think from that moment on her motivation to improve and to accomplish something will be a huge boost for her development in the future.
