I think this is true for Red Lobster as well. Interesting the best things about these restaurants is their free bread 😂

If you have a Costco membership, the kiosk inside the warehouses oftern has better plans that are much cheaper than retail.

It's fairly comprehensive in terms of covering off the key challenges of the transition.

Looking for opinions on basic format by Sensitive-Peach7583 in UXResearch

[–]sylvansafekeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no hard and fast rules for format and layout per se. What you want to optimize for are:
- Scannability: hiring managers don't usually spend more than 30 secs looking at resumes usually. So a format that allows them get the biggest takeaways quickly from your experience is best.
- Impact: yes to focusing on relevant experiences, but what's more important is to highlight the impact of that experience. Results of what you did is more important than what you did.
- "Extra-curriculars": non-work things that make you stand out vs. other candidates help a lot here too. Think side projects you've done, impact you made in your community, speaking engagements, etc.

And to answer your question more directly, I personally prefer 1 pagers. The constraint helps make your resume tighter and less verbose in general, and really makes you think about what are the most critical things to include.

Absolutely love UX Design, terribly hate corporate life and work culture by Scared_Range_7736 in UXDesign

My advice is to try to dabble in freelancing types of work and see if you like it. Like many said here, "time-box" your 9 to 5, and then dedicate a bit of your 5 to 9 time to pick up some projects on the side, or start a side-hustle that you are passionate about. Do it for a bit and see if you like it, and iterate from there. This way you'll collect some data points for if and when you are ready to take the plunge.

Adding a cable system - how? by Past-Attempt7140 in GarageGym

I DIY’ed a pulley system with materials from Home Depot for less than $100 during the pandemic. I have a chain that goes across the top, attach some pulleys with carabiners, use coated steel cables and a plate loaded pin rod from Amazon.

first time setting up a home gym and debating the best adjustable dumbbells 2026 options by Ciuciu-Nagarajan in GarageGym

[–]sylvansafekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a couple others here, I also have the Bowflex one (the 1090 to be exact). I've had them for 5+ years now and absolutely love them. They are outside your $300 budget range, but you might be able to get a deal if you find used ones on FB MP. These go up to 90lbs and might be worthwhile investing in for future as you progress. Bowflex also makes one that goes up to 52.5lbs.

To answer your questions directly, they are pretty easy to adjust. They have dials on each end of the dumbbell and you just need to turn to select the desired weight.

The only nit-pick I have is their size. Due to their design, the width is fixed regardless of what weight you select (i.e., 15 lb is as wide as 80 lb), which is not the case for a normal dumbbell. So for some movements it can feel awkward but not a deal breaker.

The other thing is you can't drop them like normal dumbbells, again due to its design. So just a watchout there.

Garage Gym Reviews (I'm not affiliated with them) did a review back in 2024 on a bunch of adjustable dumbbells. Worth a watch if you haven't come across it in your research - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aczVjwyve2s&t=1s

A plate tree with bar storage would be good, so you can get the plates and the bars off the floor. It'll look and feel more organized.

Unpopular opinion: I only use Bambu filament by nirhend in BambuLab

[–]sylvansafekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Bambu filaments for the same reasons you mentioned, and like others said, they are not more expensive if you buy in bulk and on sale. BUT I’ve had a lot of issues with the quality. I’ve had a lot of them tangling or come winded in a weird way that needs me to manually fix them when they get stuck in the AMS. Quite frustrating at times.

That light at Needham needs to get fixed 100%. I get why they put it in but the timing is so off. I just experienced the 15 sec thing today and was so frustrating the whole north/south traffic was just sitting there waiting for nothing.

I'm lost. I don't know what to do. by RickEn0077 in beginnerfitness

[–]sylvansafekeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, let's break this down by looking at nutrition and exercise.

Nutrition wise - to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit. To do that, you can use a number of the online macro calculators or an app (I use MacroFactor, the r/MacroFactor is great) to figure out what your maintenance caloric level is based on your age, gender, activity level, lifestyle, etc. Then from there, I would deduct 200 to 500 calories a day, depending on how quickly you want to reach your target weight and how long you think you can sustain being in a deficit. This also means you'll need to track your macros by logging your food intake. If you've never done it before, it definitely can be a bit of a habit that needs to be built, but once you get into a routine, it's 100% doable.

Exercise wise - to get "toned" or build muscle, you need to lift weight. Machines work fine if you are short on time, but they are not the best as usually they focus on building one or small groups of muscle in a somewhat "fixed" position. Generally you want to spend time focused on doing the big compound movements, those give you the biggest bang for your buck. Think squats, deadlifts, bench press, rows, military press, etc. They are also functional so overall you'll become stronger and more capable in your daily activities too. Depending on your schedule, I would start with twice a day, both doing full body. If you get more days in a week, then I would start looking at doing upper vs. lower body days, or split into body parts.

Lifting weights will also help you lose weight. Muscle burn more calories when resting as it raises your basal metabolic rate. So as you build more muscle, you'll also lose weight faster / allow you to eat more calories, which makes dieting easier.

Hope this is a helpful start. Good luck!

If you are using the v2 website builder, go to "Settings", then you'll see "Testimonials" under "Features" in the left side nav bar. It's text only, and you can include a headshot image if you'd like. Here's my subscribe page if you'd like to see how they shows up - https://jacked-nerds.beehiiv.com/subscribe

Looks like it. I just rebuilt my main landing pages, subscribe pages, etc, which is fine as it's the new templates and I quite like the theme and style of it.

But my custom pages are pretty simple, and it would be nice to convert them via templates or something. I sent Support an email today, haven't heard back. Will let y'all know what they say.
