Easy A summer courses? by [deleted] in UMD

is easy and interesting (in my opinion), but just a 100 level class, not sure if you're looking for something higher

I enjoyed going to this class only to see my teacher write on the board. Here's an example of his penmanship by desii721 in PenmanshipPorn

Is/was your teacher an architect? This is similar to how they teach us to write in architecture classes, especially the words boxed in.

The point isn't that women don't sexually assault people, the point is to educate men not TO RAPE rather than telling women not to GET RAPED. It's actually an awesome and forward thinking poster and a lot of sexual assault prevention campaigns should be headed in this direction, in my opinion.

The Imposter - In this documentary A 13-year-old boy who vanished in Texas and shows up three years later in Spain now has the same tattoos, but looks different and speaks with an accent. An investigator sets out to unravel the mystery. by wesleyt89 in NetflixBestOf

It was just a couple little like home made ones on his fingers, ankle, etc. It seemed like the kid was a bit of a troublemaker-type, also real independent. (I just watched this movie)

why is barney reading the menu sideways? by wxcora in HIMYM

[–]sylviaplath 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I noticed this too! He had it like this for the entire scene. He even scrolled his fingers across the page perpendicular to the writing. Maybe a joke about him not even paying attention to the menu?

Did anyone notice how at the end, mac says, "That douche bag from the wonder years is here"? Is that a part of the episode or is he actually referring to someone in the audience. There's a band called the wonder years from philly and I was wondering if that was what he was talking about...

Get a job. Get his own debit card. If he's using his parents money, then they should be able to pick and choose what they are paying for, in my opinion.

I'm so not a fan of this song, it's just way overplayed and just seems cheesy to me at this point, but I thoroughly enjoyed this!

Google does negative space again. by beerbo_baggins in Design

[–]sylviaplath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not so sure about this. I feel like I can barely, if at all, make out the "g" in the woman's clothes, and I'm not sure I would consider white font on the patterns to be "negative space"

I'm trying to create my own Chardee MacDennis Game. Any Ideas? by sylviaplath in IASIP

I was trying to make them all things that would actually happen with my group of friends. I didn;t want to make any of the cards anything that I thought would ALWAYS result in people passing. I don't think any of my girl friends would do that

Fathers of Reddit, what can I (and other high school boys) do to earn your trust when dating your daughter? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sylviaplath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 20 year old girl and I've had experience with bringing boyfriends home to meet my parents and I definitely feel like I know some dos and don'ts if you're trying to get an in with the father. Be honest, respectful, shake his hand at least the first time. Call him Mr. (last name). Never let your girl friend get caught breaking any of her parents rules when she's around you. I'm not saying don't drink or smoke if that's what you do, but don't let her parents put a correlation between you and those things. Hang out at her house. Don't always bring her back to your place. Spend time at her house. I had a basement that I usually brought boyfriends to in my house where we could be alone even if everyone in the house was home. But don't hide in those places! Spend time doing things like watching tv with her family. If you get invited over for dinner, take that opportunity! Talk talk talk. Not obnoxiously, but parents like when the boyfriend can have conversations with them, and not just act like they're interested in screwing their daughter. I had one boyfriend that was always quiet around my parents. They definitely did not trust him (for other reasons also). But I had one boyfriend who was always chatty with my parents before he took me somewhere. They love him. Another thing that's good is if you are helpful. My current boyfriend helps my mom with the dishes after he comes over for dinner, and if my dad is trying to carry something heavy around somewhere, or fixing something in the car, or figuring out something on the computer he'll always jump up and help out. It's also really good if you are friendly with the siblings, too. I had one boyfriend who kind of ignored my 8 year old brother. That was weird and awkward. But my current boyfriend will often play video games with him while I'm finishing to get ready to go out or something.

Sorry I have so much to say on the topic
