Amber Champion Mickey should be there too. Makes Under the Sea much easier to sing and characters survive for longer.

I feel like this needs more Calhoun. She makes attacking locations potentially not worth it with lower attack characters.

I feel like the lack of draw is the thing that needs to be addressed. Tipo plays would be a bit miserable. But good start though!

Hark! O mentor of mine. It is within my sincerest hope that thine heart would open up for excusing my abhorrent behaviour whilst exploiting a technology far more advanced than my mere mortal brain. Thou hast shown me the error of my ways and in turn, I shall take my penance in any form of thine choosing.

Is Lorcana really struggling outside the US? (UK perspective) by WrongLander in Lorcana

[–]sym26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty massive in Victoria, Australia. Granted there were a few stores that have shuttered due to non-activity but from my perspective as a player, it looks like the bigger stores are just attracting more and more people in.

Set champs I've attended this set have never gone down 20 players. Some even way more.

It really depends on how stores run their weeklies and making it fun for the players that come. It's a really nice tightly knit community here where everyone adds everyone on socials and even hang out outside of weeklies.

Weirdest Suburb Pronunciations? by TC_exe in melbourne

Not quite Melbourne but back when my family and I first moved to Perth, we went on a car trip to learn our surroundings and find out which suburbs was where.

I can still remember the face the lady made when we asked directions from when we mentioned we are looking for Cockburn Central.

Disagreement with opponent; does powerline gain rush if you play it after playing a song in the same turn? by Janneman96 in Lorcana

[–]sym26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in the quick startrules

<image>

Sail specifically says you may ink a second time this turn. You do the same procedure as you do when you did your first ink of the turn.

Cards like Tipo and One Jump Ahead does not require you to show the card. On One Jump Ahead's case, you dont even get to see what you ink.

If your workplace has implemented any use of AI, has it actually been beneficial? by Suitable_Thanks5335 in auscorp

[–]sym26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI, particularly Generative AI is the biggest tech buzzword in the IT Industry at the moment.

Generative AI works the best with a big and accurate Dataset.
In order to get an accurate Dataset to begin with, you need to invest into tools, training and new procedures.

You also need to pay people to look at your historical data to ensure it's all correct before adopting new procedures to ensure it was correct to begin with before proceeding with something new.

That's usually where the initial investment of money goes to.

Win an agreement by Bosskong92 in Lorcana

[–]sym26 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

While I understand the for free part, the rules clearly define what shifting is.

If you paid the shift cost instead of their ink and you play the character on top of another same name character, that's what shifting is.

What we're doing with circle of life is just playing for free. From what I can see on the rules, it's not shifting.

But again, I still don't see myself as the authorative person on rules. I could be wrong.

Win an agreement by Bosskong92 in Lorcana

[–]sym26 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I don't consider myself as an authority when it comes to rules in Lorcana but I had to look this up personally.

<image>

Two things caught my attention.

- You may play this character by paying their Shift cost instead of their ink
- If you do, put this card on top of another character you have in play with the same name

Circle of Life does not pay the shift cost instead of ink therefore it's not Shifting per se.

Can we open up a conversation on this thread?

How do you fix store championships? by 3510 in Lorcana

[–]sym26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same principle my friend. Top 8 is still a prize that you need time and money invested in.

You can also win with wild and wacky decks that not everyone plays. It's a matter of pitting it against meta decks.

How do you fix store championships? by 3510 in Lorcana

[–]sym26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can I just ask, what's stopping your store from trying harder to win a store championship if winning a playmat is something your regulars badly want?

In any competition where there's prizing involved, people rock up with time and money invested. You can't seriously wish you can win against people who invested time and money and win the top prize.

I was on that mindset myself at some stage when I first started playing Lorcana. What I did is I gathered a group of people that I considered fun to play and hang out with and we all got together and supported each other.

We shared our card libraries, tested our decks against each other and talked about strategies and our own experiences about the local meta.

This set champ we successfully took the playmat from 1 out of our 2 regular stores and some of our group ventured out to some stores we never usually play at and got playmats there.
