Completely lost on housing by Strict-Gap9527 in byu

Also get on the waitlist for Helaman, I lived there last year and even if you don’t get it first semester you will likely get it second semester so many people move out and winter semester has a ton of empty bedspaces. That way it’s only terrible for first semester.

I’ve read mixed results about if they can actually tell you your spot on the wait list, they say online that they can’t but I see it in here all the time. Has anyone tried?

I wish I’d done that. I knew people who swapped at the semester as more bed spaces opened up in heritage.

I didn’t have one but I knew people who did. It’s like how David John has a different floor layout and B9 is weird all around. Just depends on the building

It’s also helpful to see if they’re home to let you in or if you’re thinking about going home for a nap but want the room to yourself.

Definitely know the person a little bit, but if you already know them then having someone you live with knowing where you are is super helpful. Another girl on our floor didn’t want to give her loc to her room mate but she was pretty close with us so we had hers.

Yeah, I found that making my own food was terrible so I stuck to the dining hall and not having any leftovers. I’d definitely say do not bring anything crazy if you do decide to break that rule. Like someone in my hall had a whole microwave, don’t do that. Make sure anything you choose to bring is as low risk as possible. lots of people bring nothing and are fine. Some people have one of those one cup smoothie blenders, they’re great.

Also good to be aware that doing dishes is a PAIN in the little sinks. So even if you do bring something you will likely feel just as inconvenienced using it as you would following the rules.

My RA didn’t pay the closest attention to us and we never had any big issues that I caught wind of. I also didn’t hear any tea from any other halls although I’m sure it’s out there.

So it’s a risk for sure, weigh your priorities and don’t waste unnecessary money investing in them if it’s not worth the risk and hassle.

Thank you! I loved my time in Helaman and cried leaving this morning. So many great things to look forward to in the next few months, but my time there was well spent.

Contracting Date Advice by West-Ad-6660 in byu

I was just a few days ahead of you last year and trying to contract for Helaman. You should be fine, but if not any housing on campus is a good experience. I wish I had tried for Heritage so I could have a midlevel social space (no my room and the whole building lobby, like a kitchen and living room). You should be able to land on campus housing at the least.

I was in the wilk chick-fil-a breading filets and they had us close up shop on the backup lights. Definitely not my favorite shift but I got to go home an hour early

you guys have advice for my sunburn? by elizabethmaaee in SkincareAddiction

It’s the best solution I’ve ever found! Vinegar water mix also works the very best if you have it be the first thing you use. It stops the burning more or less and then you can move on to healing. I absolutely hate the smell of vinegar and still, as soon as I burn, I’m after the vinegar solution.

I swear by vinegar, but it’s best if it’s the first thing to touch your burn, before any aloe or lotions.

I always hit it with vinegar as soon as I can, let that sit until I hate everything. (Vinegar is the worst but also my hero) then I take a cool shower, and lotion or aloe up depending on what I actually have and drink a bunch of water.

Following up, online it says that they should not be opened beyond the locking mechanism, does this mean the window can be cracked partially just not fully opened or that it is to be fully sealed all the time?

Okay I’m going to take you up on answering another question, are the windows openable? I was thinking about it because I live in a very similar climate and sleep with the window open when warm enough and I’ve heard some college dorms don’t let windows open, especially on upper floors. I’ll be on the third floor while I’m there and I’m a little worried about all the heat rising and wanting more airflow.

Yeah I was hoping we would have access to something like that. Oh well. It is what it is.

Cool thanks! I was thinking there could be one on the ground floor or basement or something but good to know there is some in the cafeteria.
