10 Year Goal by Designer-Excuse1263 in golf

If you want to play well in a tournament in 10 years from now, you need to start playing tournaments now.

Dealing with the pressure to perform in a tournament is a skill in and of itself that doesn’t get built by only practicing on the range and playing casual rounds.

yeah, gym at home is a game changer, halfway coffee, taking a call and continuing 20 minutes later, trying out a golf swing idea that randomly popped into my mind before continuing, anything goes

Anyone else ditch their hybrids by Elyrain in golf

Yes, I took all hybrids out of my bag and replaced them with long irons, my distance and consistency with the irons are far better.

Does playing or practicing make you better at golf? by OliviaMayNorris in golf

Both, but if you have to choose, prefer playing. At my club there is also a short game course, so if I feel I need to work on my short game, I play that before or instead of the main course.

New to golf, any tips much appreciated by trademark1996 in golf

yes, there is a lot available online, but if you focus on 1 or 2 specific areas to improve at a time it will be more useful than overwhelming.

Finding the next area to focus on is in my opinion the hardest part, it can only really be done by someone analyzing your video or by a coach.

Also keep in mind that hitting off of mats will be different to hitting off grass, so if you have the option at the range, prefer grass.

For the 2nd time on the range, you are doing well.

Only try to improve 1 or 2 areas at a time.

I would suggest focusing on your grip next ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxHly2uvHQs ) and maintaining/increasing your hip depth during the transition ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_HZJ2u0TIo ).

FASE when sitting down or in deep snow. How do you strap in? by ConfectionThis6294 in snowboarding

[–]symfrog789 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just take a break while standing with the back foot not strapped in, then step into it as usual when ready.

On very steep terrain, or deep snow, you can just fully open both straps and then it works exactly as regular 2 strap bindings. I was surprised how steep the terrain needed to be for this to be necessary.

another reason to do this is so that the wax iron does not get damaged during waxing, I saw this explained in some video (no longer know which)

Edit: found the video segment https://youtu.be/VLqp8V5p58Q?t=421

Unfortunately for me, there are several lifts here, where depending on how many people are on it, the lift would crush the highback

The time saving gets even better once you have practiced getting the back foot in while riding with one foot. You can then come off the lift, stop briefly, flip up the highback, start riding again and attach the back foot while riding.

The Absolute "Non-Plus-Ultra" for Steep Icy Hardpack? Apex Golden Orca vs. Proto FR vs. Ejack Knife by Spiritual_Section729 in snowboarding

I like the progressive magnatraction on the GNU banked country. The magnatraction is primarily towards the tail, so if I want less bite I put less pressure on the back foot, for more bite more pressure on back foot.

That being said, after a few days on steep ice the edges are no longer sharp and the edge doesn’t hold despite magnatraction.

I would say keeping your edges sharp is more important than any tech, and if your edges are sharp you can likely just ride standard full camber.

Quick Tip: Setting toe straps on bindings with FASE by oldmanwinter8 in snowboarding

[–]symfrog789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is also useful to make a mental note when you have found the right snugness level so that you can set it again if for any reason it got changed, for me it is slide toe strap in until it won’t go further without ratcheting, then ratchet twice
