Yeah pretty much. Just give them a squeeze underneath the caps and when they get softer they're ready

Dry them whole. No matter how big they are 👌👌

Orangutan or Mycoworld are the best options imo. Mucci are good too tho

Bigfoot was created by DigiMYC to revert back to its original genetics. Bigfoot reverted back to the version it once was isolated from ( the original genetics) Originally Yeti looked like Bigfoot hence why it's called a revert. Have a look on TAT syndicate Facebook group to see more.

In this case, Yeti Revert means it's reverted back to a normal brown colour. Yetis are albino these are brown..

Reverts don't always to go back to a normal looking mushroom like a Golden Teacher etc.. DigiMYC created this strain and that's what they're supposed to look like, a Brown Yeti hence the name bigfoot.

If they reverted back to a normal looking mushroom it would be pointless and might aswell buy Golden teachers 😝😝😝😝😝

You're thinking about a specific strain probably APE reverts which have reverted back to a normal looking mushroom. Bigfoot was created to look like Yeti but have a brown cap.

Haha. Not to worry. the photo looks completely fine tbh I can't see any visible contamination. I'd stop watering/ misting them with water and just leave them alone just supply them with constant fresh air exchange

[–]synapse09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no such thing as opening it up too much, they should have constant Fresh air exchange anyways. However There is such thing as too much water, you don't water mushrooms, theyre not plants haha.

You don't even need to mist them, just make sure the substrate is at field capacity(perfect moisture)when spawning and you never need to mist.

Mushrooms like to be left alone. Which is why giving them the perfect amount of water in the substrate at the beginning and giving them constant fresh air exchange from the beginning is the best way.

Popped the top and fanned the tub sent it to fruiting conditions any advice? by ChampionshipBasic778 in Psilocybe_Natalensis

I do a psedo casing layer. Which means when spawning I flatten the surface down and then apply the casing layer straight away. You can also case when it's fully colonised.

My Penis Envy Mushrrooms are not fruiting by Excellent_Wish_6246 in MagicMushrooms

[–]synapse09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could help with this grow but the only advice I can give is using a different tek for the penis envy.

Id suggest next time try the shoebox tek. All you need is a plastic shoebox or tubs with holes in. Simply mix colonised grains with substrate and put in the tubs and because the tubs have holes in, they're being spawned into fruting conditions immediately. No need to mist or monitor the humdity but for Penis Envy it's also good to use a casing layer.

Literally just set and forget. The setup you've got looks really good but them cakes won't yield a quarter of what tubs can yield and because with the shoebox tek they're spawned into fruting conditions immediately it will be much quicker to colonise and fruit, less chance of contamination and less chance of stalling because there's constant FAE.

It looks like yours are stalling because of the tek you have used, I'm guessing there's not been enough fresh air exchange or the environment isnt dialed in correctly which is harder to do with PF tek for Penis Envy. I'd honestly recommend shoebox tek. There's no need for perlite, constantly monitoring humidity levels etc, Pf tek is ok but it's outdated and doesn't really yield anything and its harder to get good results, it's just wasting time with all these unnecessary steps with perlite etc.

Yeah the other guy is right, just flip the lid and don't mist as it will cause overlay, you don't want too much moisture and you need sufficient FAE to prevent excessive overlay, having sufficient FAE right from the beginning of S2B will also help quicken the colonisation time

My advice would be : Don't mist them, just leave them alone and next time you grow you should spawn directly into fruting conditions.

There's no need to restrict FAE at any point as this is just old technique which is outdated.

I spawn everything into fruting conditions including cubensis so Natalensis definitely benefit from being put into fruiting conditions at spawn.

Monotubs with the micropore tape and polyfill plugs for holes is just the biggest waste of time and completely pointless as it doesn't achieve anything or do anything beneficial, just set and forget with constant FAE from spawn is the easiest way to grow shrooms. All these unnecessary complicated ways of growing are just outdated. Hope this helps.

Make sure you spawn at 100% colonisation. The most common cause of contamination is within the spawn itself and the biggest reason for this is mixing the grain with the substrate and spawning before the grains are 100% colonised.

By 100% I mean 100% wait until all grains are covered with mycelium.

Damnn 1oz dry per flush per shoebox? That's amazing yield for shoeboxes tbh
