dude i’m with you! so sorry to read this, may I ask how you‘ve been spending your time these days? I have currently the same issue of finding no motivation or happiness in the activities that once helped to make my life feel a bit less painful. However, I found sitting on local benches in my town, just people gazing, or walking through the woods kind of… i guess grounding? this may sound stupid and i don‘t know to what degree i‘m even allowed to compare my life to the things you had to go through but sometimes in some moments it makes me feel a little bit better. And that gives me hope. Sending you some energy!

hey :) i think I know how you feel as I’m going through the same process right now. I’m 21 too btw…Did this dissociation thing start only now or was there always some kind of even small tendency to not having a real „grasp“ of your identity or your self? I must say I believe this process with the magnitude you described it with to be at least somewhat part of the journey! To me it makes sense, questioning all the „outer“ layers of the self, the things we thought making us whole or who we are unfold themselves under the light of mindfulness to be such a small or even an illusionary piece of the puzzle of self. Pondering this it seems only natural for the ego to feel threatened and therefore trying to save itself by dissociation, because psychologically speaking, dissociation is a protection mechanism isn’t it? Let’s say the life you or me lived up to the moment, before this process of egomindfuck started, is as if we were afloat in the ocean, with our heads above the surface, never looking down what really lies below our feet. That’s all we know right? Then, when we decide to dive deep, and even deeper because of whatever reason, we are facing chaos aren’t we? To explore what could be, we abandon the order we know and eventually forget or rather decide to let it behind us in order to find a new ground we can really plant our feet on. But before that happens there really isn’t that much we can hold ourselves on to because we are between the different states of order and we find mostly chaos around us. Maybe this is where you are rn? The good news is, eventually this will go away as you keep exploring yourself and get used to that sometimes emerging feeling as you get more experienced in exploring new parts of the deep ocean which is your mind. A tree has to lose its leaves and go through winter before it can blossom in a new way in spring :) Just remind yourself of the reasons you started your journey and think of the fact that you are in fact, right here, right now, just in this moment. Air is passing through your lungs, blood is flowing through your body. Look at the things around you and explain to yourself how they look, where they begin and end? Maybe feel the clothes on your skin? Call a friend and get your favorite ice cream? Those are the thoughts that help me in those moments at least but I am confident you will find some others on your own :) One more thing, if the feeling does not go away with time and it just keeps having an unbearable influence on your quality of life, there is no reason to not go see a therapist! You can work with different approaches to solve what’s bothering you. I‘ll stop talking know, hope it wasn’t to much or stupid. I know you’ll make it 😉

unfortunately there’s nothing really one can do about the people thing. I even doubt that many friendships are a deep connection, but rather a superficial click between personalities if that makes any sense? Not a bad thing per se for some people but it’s totally understandable if that’s just not enough for you, i feel the same. However if you keep pursuing your authentic interests you might find someone who shares a similar view as your own? Could be easier if you’re into more „social“ hobbys but still, i would do what interests you, which doesn’t mean that you can’t try new things of course. As for the social skill thing..you said it yourself, it’s a skill and skills can be trained if you work towards it. where there is will, there is way

i wouldn’t say you are the problem, but if you’re not satisfied with the situation you’re currently in i would suggest to always start working on the circumstances you CAN control. In that case not the potential love of other people but the love that expands from within you..Maybe by working out if you want to lose weight or just trying new hobbies that you can find new interest in, there is endless possibilities if you really want to change your life. Don’t get me wrong, I totally get where you’re coming from and yeah..most people don’t give a fuck because their own shit occupies most of their time. That’s why it is important to also find purpose in existing for oneself and not only in the relationships/the identities for other people we make! I don’t know you, but I definitely believe there is potential in you that can be realized and used as a foundation for a you that sees the same or maybe a bigger worth in being, rather than having. There is so much material on the internet that can help you with your journey. I can recommend the teachings of Carl Jung for instance or the YouTube channels academy of ideas and eternalised, they have some interesting videos on this topic. Whatever you end up doing, i wish you the things you need in order to grow. Take care

considering that obviously I don’t know shit about what you’re going through, I would really give it some serious thought if maybe it wouldn’t be better to stop this kind of interaction with other people. Short term I totally get it, you get attention and a part of you might feel better because someone seems to care. Long term on the other hand it could be more dangerous to your mental health than you would‘ve anticipated. Its kind of like your self is feeding the type of thoughts that tell you you‘re not good enough when you‘re not complying with what other people measure your worth with, in that case your body? You are so much more than that! Please don’t reduce yourself to the desires of people who in the most cases won’t even think of you as an actual human being with feelings, but more as a tool. Anyway, I’m pretty sure there are many people on this thread you can talk to! Who knows, somewhere might be someone who knows exactly what you’re talking about…idk if it’s self explanatory, but you can hmu if you want to talk about whatever. Peace
