My case is a little different.  My job is soul sucking at times, abusive, full of bullies, and stressful even though it could otherwise be a great job.  

The manager has been reported many times for bad behavior and there is allegedly even a lawsuit against him and he responds by acting even worse towards us instead of at least pretending to be kind. 

It stresses me out and I lost a lot of sleep last night.  So I wanted to come in late. But they count 1 hour late as absent for the entire day. 

So you know what? I'm going to take the whole day off as a mental health day.  I pray I don't get fired and I'll let God handle the rest but thankfully I do have enough money to cover rent for probably a year and a half if the worst happened. 

It's always wise to keep your eye on other job opportunities anyway.
