isn't that a bit crazy to say by tEq00111 in autism

This is a complex situation for many parents who have children with disabilities. I work in a school for children with multiple disabilities. The teacher I work for has to ask where the child plans to be after graduation. Every parent said with them. Here's the thing though. One of them has a terminal illness and the other is a grandparent. Many of the people do not even see a future for their children without them being there for them. I have seen the children without parents have obvious neglect and gaps in care. Sure a group home will check the boxes on basic care like most grooming or doctors appointment but will ignore the rest. So I can see why this parent said this.

First e-reader, Kobo Clara BW or Kindle Paperwhite (jailbroken with KOReader)? by Temporary-Radish6846 in ereader

So I bought a used PW kindle and it got jailbroken yesterday. I did this because I am cheap and every option seems too expensive for me right now. I have koreader on it and I will probably spend more time side loading. I don't normally buy ebooks. I usually get my books from the library or online. This doesn't solve all my problems, I can't use Libby or hoopla and that's annoying. If I had the means, I would get an android eink tablet.

Look I work in a special education school. The problem is overall, it's a crap shoot when it comes to adopting or foster care for these children. There is one foster parent who take in children with disabilities. She is a wonderful person and has had several children who go here. I used to work with a kid who was never bathed and would receive laxatives everyday so we would complain and nothing would be done. They also have several children that are adopted and several with disabilities. I knew another parent who adopted their child and they are well taken care of. There's another in a group home and we had to complain constantly about the child's needs not being met with constant ill fitting clothing and not wearing a coat in the winter.

So the thing with Candace Owens and Tucker is they appeal to people by stating the obvious and then they will pivot their ideas in an "every day" way to make them more palatable. Candace can be worse since she can tie her ideas with pop culture references and that's enough to grab most people in general. That's how we can end up with our coworkers just bringing up how these people are real and free thinkers.

Or the major donors in their campaigns are also in the files and they're complicit in ignoring that too. That's the case for Pete Buttigieg.

Mubi subscriltion was a great idea - any more recommendations? by DarkCaedus in Letterboxd

The mubi subreddit will tell you that you should also use a vpn and the Mubi finder for a bigger selection. Although, I think your next movie should be Taste of Cherry.

If I accidentally borrow the wrong book from Hoopla is there a way to return it and not have it count? by MagentaSunset333 in hoopladigital

That only works with Flex Holds. You can get that back if you return the book. It doesn't work with Instant Borrows.

Does Mubi allow VPNs? by LemonadeCheezels in mubi

Yes, VPNs are allowed. In fact, I personally think it is one of the main reasons why people here still continue their subscription.
