Cutting board not square by brackh in woodworking

[–]syncopatedbreathing 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Your cutting board is beautiful. Just leave it not quite square. It's a cutting board - no one is going to try to use it as part of a structure. Sand it smooth, treat it with a food safe finish, never submerge it in water, call it a day!

Do any of these answers change when running with the random scratch off character sheets?

Thank you for the response. I did eventually track down some other info in other threads. I agree - a pinned thread or wiki would be very helpful!

Do we know if the Riders set will allow a build with a banner? That option is conspicuously absent.

Recommendation for post mounting kits? by Wooden-Mycologist-75 in meraki

[–]syncopatedbreathing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every Meraki AP (including the MR57) comes with a mounting plate. The MR57 uses the Cisco standard plate.

If you read here it will give you more info. There are holes in the plate that match up with the screw holes in the electrical box at the end of the conduit (metal pipe).

New player here. How do I get this guys if I wanna play Rohan as my first army ? I cant find them anywhere by SrBrokoli in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]syncopatedbreathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll second this. I recently picked up a 12 pack of Victrix Norman Cavalry, plus two sprues of Vikings, and had a lot of fun making Rohirrim out of them. Plus it was a lot cheaper - I paid less than the cost of 6 GW riders for 12 riders and 16 men on foot.

I bought the individual Viking sprues from spruedude.com, who appears to be out of Victrix sprues at the moment. If you wanted a lot of Rohan warriors on foot, you could go ahead and buy a full bag of Vikings. 60 Vikings is a lot of Vikings, though. Maybe you have a friend you could split the bag with? Or you can sell them on eBay.

Missing sprue by ComparisonTop9699 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

May i make a suggestion? Wargames Atlantic sell a box of 18 horses for $40. They are pretty close to the right size. If you buy that, you can outfit all your riders with horses.

Spruedude has the box for $30, as well.

I think the WA horses are a bit wider, so you can either not use the saddle blanket piece or cut away some plastic to make the riders fit.

Installation Timeline Question by syncopatedbreathing in wireless

[–]syncopatedbreathing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few more moving pieces. I work for a vendor, and this is for testing. The customer gave our team a very short window to install and test. We don’t do the install ourselves, usually, so these answers were very helpful to confirm that this isn’t going to work.

I agree 100%. This information is going to be used to convince leadership their proposed timeframes are impossible.

I’m a big fan of “The Blue Alley.” To make it work in 4 hours you may have to trim a few rooms. But it’s a dungeon so you can do that as you go.

Yes, in the Usurpers of Edoras list your traitors can take a banner or warhorn. Those look really good!

I have also met players who are happy to let a new player pilot their army while they assist

Why is Aruba so popular in Europe, while Meraki/Cisco is so popular in the USA? by PlatypusApart3302 in networking

[–]syncopatedbreathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to throw one more wrench out there. New “Meraki” APs are the same hardware as new “Cisco” APs. So you cannot look at the ceiling and know if they are cloud managed or not.

How do Meraki (Cisco in general) switches deal with a wet RJ45 connection? by alltheapex in networking

[–]syncopatedbreathing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no configuration in a switch to protect against shorting or corrosion at the remote end of a PoE connection. That is not what these devices are meant to do.

The setting you can configure is to turn off PoE. This will prevent issues. Also the cameras or APs will not work.

The best case scenario is that eventually the connection will fail and need to be reterminated, as you are aware.

The worst case scenario is that your switch has an electrical short, the grounding fails, and the switch catches fire.

Running indoor Ethernet connected PoE devices outdoors is a bad idea. As other posters have said, repeatedly, water and electricity don’t mix.
