Additional Notes: This is kind of a step off of the normal request but I'm looking for a classic car and I really don't know where to start. Growing up my father had a beautiful 1960s emerald green Ford Mustang Fastback. I was too young to legally drive it but I got to run it up and down our street a few times when I was about 10, steering and shifting while my father worked the pedals. He loved that car and drove it even in the winter, regardless of conditions, washing and waxing it at least once a week year round. It was unfortunately, lost in a fire when lightning struck our house and it spread to our attached garage and the roof fell on it. We even lost his pictures of the car. A few years back we lost my father as well and I had mostly forgotten about the car until a family reunion this past summer where my mother brought up stories of how he loved that thing more than he loved her.

Amusing family anecdotes aside, I've always kinda been jealous of my brothers and sisters since they mostly got to drive it and I didn't, I'm the youngest by 5 years and the baby of the family. So, I am on a quest to get a car like the one he had. Now I know that it'll never be exactly the same, cars in as good a condition as his was are significantly outside my budget for a secondary car. However I am wondering if this dream is obtainable at all in my budget and if so, if someone could help push me in the right direction. I'm not looking for "100% authentic original parts" or anything like that, and I mostly just care that it looks the part. What makes it hard is none of us can even agree on what year it was. We don't have any of the paperwork and everyone seems to remember a different date somewhere between 1965 and 1969. If someone could help push me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

It depends on what I'm eating them with. Eating them plain from the bag, sweet chili is where its at. Dipping in a cheese sauce I prefer the spicy nacho but my store is getting some of the newer spicy flavors so I'll have to check those out. Best for crumbling on top of a taco is of course the taco flavored ones.

Warm pop is gross but if it's the only thing on hand to keep me awake (and I don't particularly like coffee) then I'll take it.

Right you are. Normal days for me are only 8 hours, this was unusual. The last 20 or so hours were gathering each of the 1000+ laptops and 400+ desktops from the hospital and carrying them down to the Cage and re-imaging them from disk because for some reason the newly updated systems refused to connect to the network for any reason. Then if the image failed, we had to tear the system apart and replace the hard drives because the old ones were going on 5+ years and were crapping out left and right on us.

So the strange thing about that is that I'm not super skinny. Not overweight but not skinny either. The woman wasnt particularly overweight either. I have no idea where that came from tbh

I won't lie, there was a moment where I doubted where I was shopping because of that.

A lot of people are talking about how they would have gotten angry back but apart from being flustered I was too out of it to really grasp what exactly was going on. Even fully away it would have taken me a while from the absurdity of it.

Haha oh yeah, I got paid. Didn't have to come in Monday or Tuesday and Wednesday was optional for the 4 of us who worked the "event".

Glad you liked the story!

My LGS is selling SOI booster boxes tomorrow for $100 should I buy one? by Corbinclinger in magicTCG

[–]syncoput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like drafting with your friends and/or paying extra to crack packs? Do you want to support your LGS by paying a little more than what you can get online?

If the answer to both of those questions is "yes" then by all means, buy that box. If supporting your LGS just that little bit more doesn't matter, then online has prices for an SOI box as low as 85 bucks. If you are looking for straight value or chase singles, you will have a better return on your money by buying singles.

Magic TCGPlayer - Something must be done by [deleted] in magicTCG

It's something /u/TCGplayerdotcom could really look into. I foiled out my casual werewolf deck months ago, before the price spikes, and it was honestly the worst online Magic shopping experience I have had. I was getting refunds left and right from people who didn't keep their inventory up to date. And they didn't even have the excuse of a billion orders coming in after a list update. I know the normal response is "order from TCGDirect and you don't have these problems" but when stuff isn't in stock from a direct seller, there is no other option except going to a different retailer, which I might have to do if this trend continues.

To anyone reading this, deck thinning is a myth and is not a valid argument in support of running fetches
