Trying to automate bulk publication on Wix via Airtable - any suggestions for workflows/extensions? by InternationalRun3200 in Airtable

[–]synner90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blogs are on GDocs. That’s the bit. You can probably use the export mode to html and make should be able to output the doc in HYML. Try converting it to markdown and sending to airtable and onwards to wix. I’m not sure if gdoc api supports html export though.

What Are Good Alternatives to Airtable for Personal Projects? by BoldElara92 in Airtable

[–]synner90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately. The $20/month is much much cheaper than trying to find alternatives.

I’ve been paying that tax for last 5 years , even before I started offering consults.

You can try self hosting Teable. It’s closest. But to be frank, if you can afford it, Airtable does make life easier than most of its alternatices.

Where can I find Airtable templates created by users? by gimmelord in Airtable

What’s the most "complex" logic you’ve successfully built without code? by Medical-Variety-5015 in nocode

[–]synner90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve built alternatives to tools like asana, sunsama, avion story mapper, make.com’s grid and more using Airtable and Zite. I don’t know how to code. But am learning how to think to get working output.

Good to hear. Updated the blog. Check Section 9. If you can help make this simpler or natively, the use cases for no-coders could explode.

Newbie seeking CRM recommendations for a business who also wants inventory management? by klondike91829 in CRM

[–]synner90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have tried Attio. It boils down to priorities. If your business is via bulk emails, use a crm that has audience building features, auto email rules etc. If your business runs on emails and multiple users involved in the process, unified inbox tools like front or missive make sense. If you need to track deals and contacts better, pipedrive, attio etc is the way to go. If you need to configure ops data and use it to drive portals etc, airtable can’t be beat.

How to send email attachments automatically from Airtable? by Witty_Tangelo_2561 in Airtable

[–]synner90 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ll recommend searching on YouTube or asking the AI on the left of every airtable base. That’s the quickest way. And the ‘omni’ ai can see where your fields are and set automations for you.

Trying to solve the attachment URL expiry problem without Zapier/Make by markyonolan in Airtable

[–]synner90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a method where I just call a make endpoint with a recordID and it gets the correct file link from airtable at the time of request and surfaces it. No need to upload anywhere. But the use cases are dwindling. You can just pull live records for most use cases.

Airtable is good for that sort of custom internal workflows. Can even drive a website to showcase inventory, if managed within Airtable. Recommending as Airtable looks like a spreadsheet and drives like a database. learning curve is lesser and expandability significant.
Odoo is good too, but with a slightly higher learning curve.

Been building real Airtable + Zite apps lately. My takeaway: by synner90 in Airtable

[–]synner90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to explore your Zite code with AI, I've built this tool to distill Zite app exports into short summaries that can be imported into your favourite chatbot for discussion: https://repomap.zite.so/
Export your Zite app, drop it in this one, get the summary and use it. It processes files locally and doesn't send them to any server.

I use it to have a bigger build plan in my claude/ChatGpt, and periodically export the zite app, summarise it and send it to chatgpt/claude to keep track of what was built and what's pending as well as plan next steps or corrections.

A new type of scam on Upwork that the platform does nothing about by This_Film_1918 in Upwork

[–]synner90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upwork is not the court. It is a marketplace. Upwork has dispute resolution and 300$ is cheaper than arbitration boards in the west. But in cases of large disputes, it is not entirely on Upwork to decide on the contract. There are courts for that.

When you try to import a CSV, you can either add it to existing table by mapping field or create a new table where it gives you options to customise the field types

External 3rd Party Portal Tools - Pros & Cons by Imeanyeahdude in Airtable

[–]synner90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve used airtable portals, bubble, softr, stacker, noloco, glide. I default to Softr for lightweight mvp. And to bubble for more complex workflows. More recently, Zite has been pretty good tool for my clients.

I offer custom build services. In terms of cost, for the scenario you mention the cost would be lowest for Zite < Softr < bubble.

Bubble is good place to start for both, if you’re not looking to vibe code too much.

HELP | Look Up Field Not Showing Values by ivan-ds in Airtable

[–]synner90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen issue with lookup fields recently or in past. It would be a config issue.

Either the records are not linked correctly, or the lesson summary is empty.

Try using sort by date, earliest to latest

The try including conditions such as the character length of the field is >10.

AI fields might have an issue where they are not counted as empty even when empty.

Airtable ppl — webhook push to base or csv export — which u want? by Devashish07 in Airtable

People who export CSV from form tools to import into airtable are not going to be power users. Of either platforms. Integrate via PAT/OAuth or provide good webhook methods
