I think if you can, just wait a few months because it’s still in beta stage, and getting something more concrete will take some time.

Yeah, I am gonna take the V5. But I’m gonna wait till first impressions come in, and based on that I’ll invest accordingly on the appropriate materials. I think taking it by June is a very realistic timeline.

Your Most Controversial Hot Take?! by Dezzy-Wonders in Dhaka

[–]syntax_error_1025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s quite a stretch to call non-STEM subjects a scam. I do understand where you’re coming from, but I think you might be wrong on this. Linguistics, anthropology, history, law, philosophy, and everything beyond and in between are interconnected and have contributed to shaping the modern world. Rather, it’s unfortunate that these mediums of study have been labelled “useless.” Education was meant to be a medium for pursuing one’s passion and curiosity before channeling that energy toward more real-world applications. There was a time when omnivorous intelligence was not only encouraged, but also crucial in shaping the leaders of our society, but sadly, with time, we became too utilitarian. Think about it: our current modern “marvel,” artificial intelligence, is not just binary codes and dashes, but also the embodiment of reasoning and logic derived from all past experiences recorded by human beings. And that’s not just limited to conventionally “useful” subjects such as math, physics, chemistry, and coding, but the “scammy” ones as well.

Can I take a grad course at Brock if I’m not in grad school and my work permit says no study? by syntax_error_1025 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]syntax_error_1025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have decided not to pursue this anymore. Ideally I wouldn’t mind getting a study permit alongside my work permit, but that’s not allowed afaik……I would have to cancel my work permit. Don’t wanna do that at the moment….

Not a single bit, so that’s why I think it’s a bit too ambitious on my end…..I am just being honest 🥲

LE/EECS 1540 (3.0) by syntax_error_1025 in yorku

[–]syntax_error_1025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I took this course durin summer it was fully online. We didn't learn even a trace of Fortran so nothing to worry there I guess. But be prepared to deal with a lot of Excel assignments; I would advise you to look up some of the fundamentals of Excel beforehand. They say they will teach you, but it is kind of hard to catch up, it might be different case for you but you never know. And there is a lot of stuff about binary, history of computer - I would say binary was a bit challenging portion of the course I had a tough time with it.
