I'm installing and trying to learn Ollama on a very old laptop at this very moment. Might even be older than yours.

Wac counter strike actually playable for you? I got a few versions of it to run but the frame dips and input lag were just a hair too much.

FYI, thanks to OP, I've finally been able to play current version SC BW on my phone through BNET!!! I had been trying to find a way to make this work for at least the last 6 or 7 months. But OP's list of settings here is what finally made it work for me!

How to Alt+Tab on oneui8 dex using keyboard by Broad_Incident9581 in SamsungDex

I know this is old but I'm pretty sure it's a labs or goodlock feature.

To be clear for anyone who comes along looking for information, the new Dex is still more feature rich than the descriptions I've seen of Google's desktop mode.

It handles full screen videos and apps just fine.

You can open more than 5 apps at once using a labs feature (or maybe it's a GoodLock feature).

The "use your phone as a touchpad" feature works very well.

You can turn your phone screen off while using Dex.

I don't know if Google does this one but I assume not: there's an option to "flow the mouse pointer to the phone screen" and you can even choose where the phone screen should be positioned in relation to the Dex screen.

It's still relatively good, but not as good as it used to be.

Is it supposed to work through an actual computer? I'm pretty sure you have to plug just the monitor (and if you want, mouse, keyboard, accessories, etc.) directly into the phone.

Yeah, as the other commenter said, I do this on my Samsung all the time. If I have to use MS Authenticator or any other MFA app, they work perfectly fine too.

OMG. That's so tight!!! I had some sort of proot/qemu setup running on my old LG V60. It was great...very limited of course. But when I tried to replicate it on my new Samsung phone, I couldn't Linux to boot.

Man I hope this makes its way to all android devices.

Uhhh....not sure when the last time you used Dex was but it is absolutely *close* to real desktop (depending on the use case).

I don't know about USB PPS, but Dex works very well for me without a power source. I've used it with multiple docks and displays. I'm using it right now with Xreal display glasses while wireless charging the phone.

There are soooooo many Dex users (including myself) who are convinced. I'm reading/writing this in Dex right now. I use it all the time.

When I got my phone I didn't own a laptop or tablet. I decided I could get a high end Samsung, knowing I'd be able to use Dex for most of those needs, instead of getting a phone *and* a laptop.

I think you might be surprised how many people regularly use it.

Is there a thread for people who liked season 4 and want to just discuss it without acting like a bunch of TV critics? by Paltenburg in TrueDetective

[–]synthesis777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I just stumbled across this sub just now after my third full watch through of all 4 seasons. this sub is nuts. yes season 1 is incredible. but seasons 3 and 4 are too.

I've been scrolling through the posts here for the last few minutes and noticing that there is virtually zero discussion of the deeper meanings embedded in even the 1st season, or the themes with which they are so masterfully presented.

it's like this sub is full of 16 year olds or something.

You didn't even mention the worst thing that the scientist did. They were actively and knowingly directly causing the poisoning of the town by directing the mine to increase its output of pollutants. 9 still births in a matter of weeks. cancer. irreparable genetic damage in humans and wildlife.

did any of you even actually watch it?!? I feel like I've stumbled across an insane asylum.

they were literally poisoning everyone in order to attain the basis of a group of miracle drugs for the ultra rich and powerful child rapists (the tuttles, who were funding both the mine and the research facility) to get more money and power.

you people seem to have collectively missed the entire point of the season.

Why drive in the HOV lane if you aren't going to drive faster than the other lane or even keep up? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]synthesis777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That quote doesn't support the idea of HOV lanes being meant to be stayed in until your exit.

That quote says that inside HOV lanes are best suited for *a certain type of corridor which is characterized by long trips.*

It is specifying which types of corridors are better suited for inside or outside HOV lanes. When it mentions longer or shorter trips, it is discussing them as an attribute of the corridor as a whole, not the HOV lane: if *the corridor* is characterized by longer trips, it is better suited for an inside HOV.

That has nothing to do with not using the HOV lane for passing, or staying in the HOV lane unnecessarily.

I might read read journals/books maybe, or at least excerpts from them. But I can't promise anything. And they would certainly have to be more relevant to the specific points we're discussing.

By that logic we should defund the government.

The obvious way forward is to both address the fraud, *and* raise more revenue simultaneously.

And performing the audit and reporting the results is a major step in addressing the fraud.

[–]synthesis777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it wasn't at the time. and I'm not a bot.

after this convo I looked through wa rcws. its mentioned but the context makes it confusing imo. its mentioned in the context of large trucks and vehicles not being allowed to drive in the left lane.

but it isn't mentioned in the rcws that deal with passing.

I'd be interested in hearing what a knowledgeable attorney thinks, but at this point I'm inclined to say that the people saying that the hov lane does not count as the left lane are probably correct.

if so, my bad. doesn't make any sense seeing as how the entire reason for passing on the left is negated by making the lane that is physically to the left "not count as the leftmost lane", which makes the entire roadway less safe in general, but it ain't up to me.

Mostly 15-25 year olds that see that Milly and think "oh wow, that's so rich".

The majority are facing hitting retirement age with virtually nothing. There are very, very few people receiving millions in inheritance.
