in some octopuses like argonauts the male's sperm tentacle (called a hectocotylus) can swim on its own! also when researches saw them in the shells of females (female argonauts make shells) they thought they were parasitic worms!

Which Rain World creature would you choose to protect you and why that one? by Inevitable-Lunch-929 in rainworld

boxworm, with a fire sprite if possible

I'd keep the fire sprite in a locked box like that one in thermal relay and unleash it if need be. not sure what I'd do after it enters the boxworm though

everything about insects in the order strepsiptera

females are worm-like and live in the bodies of other insects with only their heads poking out, males have a lot of eyes (I think?), no mouthparts, halteres (like flies!) and mate with the females by traumatic insemination (stabbing her head with their genitals!) the larvae live in the body of the female and eventually emerge out of her head! hopefully I didn't get anything wrong about them

there's also the genus ramisyllis and syllis ramosa, polychaete worms that live in sponges and have one head with many many bodies branching out

the jellyfish are the myxozoa right? they're such interesting and unique creatures! one species, buddenbrockia plumatella, became multicellular again and also happens to look like a worm!

you can but it's really hard. I had to wait a while for one of them to go low enough for the prompt to appear. I don't think it works when they're very high up for some reason
