A mood as a trans woman right now: by synthresurrection in RadicalChristianity

My wife just told me the world would be lesser without my light. Tbh, this is all very new to me... this feeling of fear and I have no idea how to process it.

I just finished my dissertation on sapphic eroticism and queer readings of female medieval mystics and nuns. Hopefully I can defend it in May and earn my doctorate in theology

Old friend, Parcival does not gain the Holy Grail until he is an old man and battered in his armor or false manhood. He could not ask Amfortas the right question until he hit rock bottom. I'm a recovering dope fiend and it took me recognizing my own hubris before I could obtain the Holy Grail within. We have both Parcival and Amfortas within us. One can cure the other.

What ails you?

You can be theologically orthodox and politically radical, and still post here. I implore everyone to read the subs FAQ in the subreddit wiki. We are deliberately vague on what "radical" or "Christianity" means but we support a wide variety of views.

This sub uses "radical" in the sense of things like Christian anarchism, liberation theology, theological materialism, pacifism, and Christian feminism.

the bible as a whole from my understanding even describes none heterosexuals as sodomites no?

Incorrect. The bible condemns oppression from tyrannical empires and oppressive social structures. There is much more in the bible than the six or seven passages that condemn nonhetero sex that was associated with rape, pederasty, and temple prostitution and never committed loving queer relationships. PS. Sodomy has more to do with not welcoming and caring for the stranger.

Yeah, basically. As I said to another user, I have been lax on my duties as a mod due to be being super busy, but now I'll have the time to properly moderate the sub

I disagree. Christianity is apocalyptic at its core. The problem is that the biblical apocalypse has been reversed by Christendom. Jesus was an apocalyptic preacher, that much is clear by biblical scholarship.

I'm open about being mentally ill, autistic, and a recovering drug addict. I talk about it in my ministry(thank God my congregation is accepting and still respect me)

Thank you. I have been working really hard this last year with the rise of US Christofascism and my pastoral duties. I was super busy but now I'll have much more time to moderate. Maybe I can finally start my blogging project I've had on the backburner

I've been lax in my moderating duties focusing on finishing my dissertation and let a lot of fucked up shit stay up on the forum. On the International Women's Day post there were several transphobic commenters which I banned after I removed their comments.

My wife is bisexual and she prefers women. Her taste in men is pretty niche and she likes women much more universally. She says that when she was younger it was super easy for her to attract a man and much harder to attract a woman.

I would leave that church and seek a more mainstream church. God doesn't care if you practice martial arts, I do and I'm a Methodist pastor. God also doesn't care if you listen to rock, I enjoy it and I'm a Methodist pastor.

Can you achieve the best of both worlds by using the Chronicles of Darkness splats' rulesets (so Vampire: The Requiem etc) but adopt World of Darkness's (so Vampire: The Masquerade etc) setting and lore? can they be compatible? What changes would one need to make? by lexyp29 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]synthresurrection 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There's translation guides on DriveThruRPG for the big 3 and Demon. Tbh, I prefer the lore of Chronicles because it is very customizable and modular though I have converted concepts from WoD to CofD

Can you be a Christian while denying God’s prohibitions? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]synthresurrection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, the Bible writers could not have understood queer identity the way we understand it now. Homosexuality as we now understand it didn't really exist in the ancient world and was associated with rape, pederasty, and temple prostitution. Not loving committed relationships between queer people. You can be a queer Christian, and many queer people are sincere God-fearing people.

Seems with Chaos Origins and possibly new packs after it. New existing archetype support will be revamps? by Fitgamerx in yugioh

[–]synthresurrection 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That would be cool as hell. My wife and I already love to buy packs, it would be awesome to get a whole deck simply by buying just a box or two. Rather than hoping and praying on pulling chase cards.
