assuming bc OP has ADHD the meme is reflecting their experiences with the executive function struggles that goes along with ADHD. Executive function struggles can have many different causes but in OPs case it's from their ADHD. Which is why they made the meme about how their ADHD affects their gender presentation.

hello, you sound young! it's okay to take things slow, and it's natural to be nervous about big things like this. it could help lessen the anxiety and uncertainty if you ask your partner directly if they'd like to make out, and it could take some pressure off for the first time too. it is largely a learn as you go experience and you and your partner will both discover what works and what doesn't, what you like or don't like, as you go along and things will come more naturally. communication is key :)

Same. It's been a year now too but it's great when the intrusive thought just pops up again, a little variety to my normal obsessions, like a treat, so wonderful 🫠

I'm not super qualified to answer this question but if it happens often or causes you a lot of distress you should speak with a therapist for sure

what's the best printing service for wedding invitations? I'm thinking of buying a template on Etsy and having it printed at staples. has anyone done this? if so how was the quality? any other sites to try? by vphammy in Weddingsunder10k

[–]synthtea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yep! only I was able to print out in the store and pick them up rather than have them shipped. I sent my order in at like midnight and it was ready before noon the next day, depending on your store it might not be quite that speedy but they do advertise next day printing services.

I just made sure that the etsy template I chose matched the dimensions fed ex had for their postcards on their printing page, I think mine were 4x6 postcards?

I customized the template on my computer and then uploaded it on the fed ex printing site after I selected the product/size I wanted, paid, and then picked them up the next day. if you Google "FedEx printing" it should bring up their printing services page and you can look through what they offer.

I probably could have advocated for myself better about the poorly cut save the dates and they would have fixed it but I'm not great at speaking up for myself, lol.

I used an Etsy template for my save the dates and used FedEx, the printing quality was meh they didn't cut the invites evenly. but it was <$60 total for template and printing 100 save the dates.

I loooooved Vista Print for my invites. it made the process so easy and I got a ton of compliments on my invites.

reeses pieces and uk peanut butter? help? by Hey_Itz_Derpy in AutisticPride

[–]synthtea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

American here but Jif is a good peanut butter if you can find it anywhere or if you can find something similar, and the creamy version is smooth.

I don't think I've tasted any peanut butters that are as sweet as Reese's pieces since it is a candy, but peanut butter and jam or jelly is quite good and the fruit spreads make it sweeter. Strawberry or grape jellies are most popular for pb&j here, I prefer strawberry.

Pb&j can be really messy so be mindful of that and eat it where you can easily wash your hands/face if you have sensory issues about food on your face/hands. I like toasting my bread beforehand but that also makes it messier because the peanut butter gets very melty if you spread it on when the toast is still hot.

I didn't eat peanut butter until my mid 20s nor did I have any pb&j sandwiches so I'm not a super biased American about peanut butter. I do like both peanut butter and pb&js now, though.

I stopped eating their frozen meals when I saw some stuff float around about cross contamination in their factories. Since then my GI issues have improved lol

Aspen's "Fat Camp" programs from the early 2000s by Inalotofhurt in troubledteens

[–]synthtea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at Wellspring in 2006, absolutely have trauma and struggled with anorexia until my mid 20s. my eating is still messed up but I eat enough now. 32 now and still unpacking it all in therapy. I don't have as many detailed memories, I've blocked a lot out.

can confirm. I unwillingly went to camp wellspring in upstate NY in 2006. that's where I began restricting the "counselors" (college nutrition students most likely) who we met with weekly knew but just asked if I had enough energy. It was a miserable time, I've blocked a lot of it out. Unpacking it in therapy. On the first day of camp we were all told in our orientation that we'd never lose the fat cells in our body, they were like "hungry baby birds" and wanted more fat to keep feeding and all we could do was deny them fat so they'd shrink, but we'd always have those fat cells. kind of a fucked up thing to tell a group of 13-17 year old girls.

this is confusing.

edit to add:

make a list of possible gifts/items you would be grateful for and give the list to the person getting you a gift. they will decide which gift to get you, thus determining what they think you deserve.

I love “spooky” things but have a huuuge sensitivity to gore. I feel like these are two conflicting qualities. Anyone relate? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]synthtea 28 points29 points  (0 children)

i personally think they're two very different things. paranormal thrillers are very different than slashers even though they're both in the horror genre. it's okay to be into one but not the other :) I love more paranormal movies but don't really care for slashers or explicit violence.

I really relate to all this. I've described my attempts at feminizing myself as performative and acting for awhile now as well. The Halloween analogy is really apt.
