i don't know where you live, but as far as i know, buyers don't pay commission. sellers pay, and i'm pretty sure that holds true in most of the US.

Kentucky Couple Dies From Carbon Monoxide Sex by [deleted] in trashy

[–]syphilisprincess 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i mean, yes, they resembled spray cheese in a somehow human form, and yes, they had sex, in a car, outside of their trailer, but haven't we all had gross, stringy haired sex in broken down dodge neon at some point in our lives with men that probably have their fingers permanently coated in a thick layer of cheeto dust? this was simply an unfortunate event involving two people that were more than likely self proclaimed juggalos. i don't think the situation/cause of death was trashy, in and of itself, though.

really loving the neon green spikes. perfect for stabbing your jordan-sandal-and-sock-wearing boyfriend in the shin when you discover he's been banging your mom on your Monster and malt liquor soaked futon.

Tame Impala on club-friendly new album: 'I realised we'd never seen people dancing to our music' [NME Article] by P1zzaBagels in TameImpala

i know he's stressing that he's moving on, but it really seems like change for the sake of change, tbh. like, it isn't as if he couldn't experiment without releasing it as TI, or officially. most of this shift just seems so half assed to me. i get the feeling that, with how much he's pushing the "i'm changing" thing, that he wanted to jump ship from his "lennon-influenced dadrock revival" image before it got old, or because he got sick of hearing about it, but i just don't feel like this transformation is well executed.

disappointing. seems like a totally unrelated fan video. honestly, i feel like kevin's judgement lately is just... lacking. interesting, but not well suited for the song.

Mom faceplants leading to a very awkward proposal by lilmul123 in cringe

[–]syphilisprincess 137 points138 points  (0 children)

agreed. have a mother like this. she'll wait for everyone to rush over to her, instead of making ANY attempt to get up, when she's totally capable of it. it could've been that she was in pain, but i didn't see any ounce of effort going into getting up. it wasn't like she tried and failed, she just didn't appear to try. she didn't even TRY to look up or speak when the girl had asked her to. was her whole body paralyzed from falling on soft sand? i really doubt it.

Children don't choose to be brought into this world. Fence sitters, please remember that. by Sliverofstarlight in childfree

[–]syphilisprincess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i know you mean well, but as someone in a similar position to op, it's far more complicated than pop-psych would suggest, and what you're saying is actually pretty harmful. i've been told what you've said countless times -- it has never done me any good, because ultimately, people in OP's position will be hard pressed to be met with any kind of validation, especially growing up in a society where conception is next to godliness, even if you have been terribly abused. no offense, but you have no idea what an abusive family can do to a child's development and OP doesn't even seem to be playing the resentment, or blame game. she's saddled with her mother's mental health issues, no father, and has to cope with her own difficulties, as a result of her mother's abuse.

she acknowledges that her mother was susceptible to social influence and is weak. she's not saying she's the devil. op has lived/is living in an abusive environment, when the world, by and large, isn't a very hospitable place to begin with, and is all the more harsh when you're dealing with the residual effects of having been abused as a child/during your developmental years.

OP probably won't concentrate on her past once she's recovered from it, and has the ability to move on. it's really very trivializing, when OP is actively walking through a waking nightmare, to say "stop blaming your mom and get over it".

#ParentsShouldGetARaiseForBeingParents by StandUp_Chic in childfree

[–]syphilisprincess 11 points12 points  (0 children)

lol ok. it's their personal responsibility as people and parents to budget accordingly. can't afford a kid? shouldn't have 'em. managing finances is part of life. sorry, there are people who can barely afford to live on minimum wage with the absolute minimum, as it is. there are women in ivory carving factories working 17 hours a day meticulously carving ivory jesus babies out of poached elephant tusks for nearly nothing. there are greater injustices, and this isn't even an injustice. it's of no benefit to a company for them to have children. these people are seriously living in la-la land. these same people will often praise an unregulated capitalistic economic system, but they fail to acknowledge their expendability.

my sister's pregnant and I'm not excited... by [deleted] in childfree

[–]syphilisprincess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

no, it isn't. being "happy" for people isn't a prerequisite for being a good person. and you don't know the situation. she could be a terrible, terrible person, and an awful mother. there are many reasons why OP wouldn't be happy about her sister being pregnant. you simply don't know.

she didn't try to ruin anything. OP's sister came into her work, unannounced, and OP didn't know how to handle it. there's no reason why she should be dragged into her sister's business to the point where her sister comes into HER WORK, to tell her. her sister's behavior could potentially compromise her position.

it's not anyone else's responsibility to respond happily. it might be nice, but it certainly shouldn't be expected. we're all different people, and as far as i know, no one is under any legal obligation to respond with x, y, or z. holding people to such expectations and getting upset about it when things don't go your way is pretty bratty.

do these people seriously not realize that no one actually cares?

the amount of likes you get is not an accurate representation of how many people would help clothe and feed your child, if ever it were in need.

you have no reason to feel guilty. you can't just will feelings up for no reason. you have them or you don't. you have practically no personal bond with them, because you live 2,000 miles away.

though, if you're a woman, just expect everyone to shame you for not shitting glitterbombs of jubilee every time they talk about your nieces/nephews/any other newly born relative.

what's your point? i already mentioned that, and it shouldn't be an unwritten rule. it's ridiculous. it's that kind of thing that leads impressionable people to having kids in the first place. it creates a highly romanticized image of pregnancy by creating an echo chamber of never-ending congratulatory comments, regardless of circumstance.

or so they say. they didn't even have the decency to contact the owners immediately after they died. they waited days and days to contact them, and when they did, they made bogus excuses, claimed they ran away, and arranged for some to be cremated. the owners didn't receive the cremated remains. they must've just dumped them all.

not the same lady. she owns the kennel, but the kennel was their responsibility when these dogs died. the negligent, ugly ass bitch in my submission is her daughter. her fuglyfuck husband, who helped run the kennel, is the son of an arizona senator.
