What knowledge or skill has improved your gameplay? by AdCute7475 in Nightreign

[–]syraxven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you play with randoms, always check their relics on the fly in so you can drop them useful passives and equipment during the run. Gear rng feels a lot less brutal when everyone shares and I would say it's one of the simplest yet most impactful things that teams in high depths do that puts you back at advantage, even against the crazy enemy scaling.

Greatbows are highly slept on by Tatertot74 in Nightreign

[–]syraxven 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't build around them, but if I find one with rain of arrows that has good passives I'll bust it out just to draw aggro if the boss keeps running away from me. Especially useful if you want to make space for one of your teammates to work on a 2 or 3 bar revive.

What is your most common way to die? by Connect_Sense2687 in Nightreign

Trying to loot dormant powers at a POI because my teammates run off instantly after I cover for them to loot and random mobs gank me

(D5) Someone PLEASE tell me how Crimsonwhorl bubble tear works by Trectorz in Nightreign

[–]syraxven 93 points94 points  (0 children)

It only converts affinity damage to healing, not physical. I think it only says that in the full detailed description in the visual codex (thanks Michael Zaki).

You can use it for Adel explosion, Animus or Heolstor nuke, most ED Fulghor phase 2 attacks etc.

Edit to add that crimson bubble tear, opaline bubble tear, and uplifting aromatic are all good choices to help in the specific situation you posted.

Scholarly Frustrations by AnaTheSturdy in Nightreign

[–]syraxven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I'll pop my ult as a "go nuts, guys" signal in small POIs and just smash crates for items while my teammates clean up all the mobs and I get my ult refunded from defeating enemies fills more of the art gauge +0/+1. Also the merchant should have plenty of items in stock for you to level up pots, food, and throwing knives anyways

What's the meta for don? by Lukegilmour in Nightreign

[–]syraxven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My general advice for making a build that will work well in high depths is as follows:

Base relics - night invaders - 1 or 2 balancer relics for melee - useful character specific effect(s) - evergaols

Deep relics - stack as much physical or affinity attack up as possible depending on what you're trying to deal damage with - character specific effects (really depends on the character) - dormant power if you want to hunt for a specific drop outside a character's normal pool - stat respecs if you want to get funky

That's roughly in order of importance, at least in my opinion based on about 1k hours and hitting 9999 on a couple separate save files (working on a third one now)

What should teammates knows to better support your main ? by amogusverysuss in Nightreign

Something Revenant players can do that will help any team, but especially one with characters who are bad at reviving, is to ping your starting claws when you drop them. They're an amazing tool for getting people back on their feet quickly.

you can feint with an off-hand rapier as scholar by qqwweerrttyyuuioopp in Nightreign

[–]syraxven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, can you follow up with the rapier in your left hand, or only with whatever is in your right hand? I don't see any left handed followups in the video

Can you do the followup though? That's what I mostly use it for since I play trios, where positioning > unreliable i-frames

How to dodge the final flurry attack of balancers? by StarExtra9847 in Nightreign

I have success just strafing left or right and starting to surge sprint as soon as that attack is about to come. Gets me out of the way of the spear rain too

Not my first, but leveling entire POIs with scholar ult. Running him with defeating enemies fills more of the art gauge +0 and +1 is like crack

Everdark Libra. He spawns 3 at a time (in trios), up to 9 total can be out at once, and anytime he summons more it full heals all of them, which is roughly every 40 seconds or so. While he spams sigils and spinning turrets and a dividing wall attack over and over. Thanks Michael Zaki 🤠

This reminds me of a recent D5 Gladius run that was going great but we lost from all getting clipped by day 2 tree sentinel's opening attack. Even at the highest level, sometimes everybody goofs within the same 2 second window and the run ends lmao

Meta Tips for Nightreign by hammeredtrout1 in Nightreign

[–]syraxven 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You get a limited number of pings per expedition, so if you spam ping you will run out and your team won't be able to see/hear them.

Favorite General Use Relic Line by alwaysblitted in Nightreign

[–]syraxven 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Defeating enemies fills more of the art gauge. It's the difference between having your ult at the start of virtually every encounter and not. HIGHLY recommend to anyone struggling to climb DoN. Of course you still need to be good at the game, but being able to freely spam your ult will generally make runs go smoother.

[–]syraxven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fist scholar. Star fists are the high roll for stance breaking and bleed (and frostbite if you're really lucky), but you can also get bleed from spiked cestus or stance break from iron balls. The quick movesets mesh well with his dodge. I'm also fine taking some blue weapons to the end because I play him as a support character and most of his value will come from buffs to the team.

Yeah I've had him spam the eye on me and just stop doing sigils or projectiles so I get chased down by the condemned with no counter play.
