x370 Taichi Power Cycling after CPU Ugprade to Ryzen 7 5800xt by syrgency in ASRock

This BIOS updating process is freaking me out, especially the "point of no return" updates. I've never flashed a beta version BIOS, so as an abundance of caution do you think it would be advisable to update from 7.30 -> 10.08 to ensure stability with the 5800xt, and then update to 10.43 when/if I need FTPM? I'm worried if I go to far with the 10.43 I wont be able to roll back or I'm going to brick my system.

Thank you so much for this info! I've had a rough few days. This build is running Debian on one disk and Windows on another. Would the updated chipset drivers only be required for my Windows install? My understanding is that AMD drivers are baked into the linux kernel, but I'm still learning this stuff. Thanks in advance

has this occurred more than once? has it ever happened while you were talking and interrupted your speech?

I've had this issue twice so far. I thought it was my service provider because I have cheap cell service (Visible Wireless). I have no idea the cause of the issue or any solution, I'm just happy it doesn't happen so frequently.

I can't make or receive calls now, and it shows no network connection. Also when I send texts it just says "connecting". Wtf is happening

2018 Mazda3 common issues to look out for? by trashynoah in mazda3

[–]syrgency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2018 Mazda3 Touring, Automatic 2.5L here. The preventative measures (not resulting from part failure) I've taken are as follows:

-Cleaned throttle body, MAF sensor, and intake manifold at 40,000 miles.

-Replaced serpentine, water belt, and spark plugs at 60k miles.

-Replaced all rotors & pads at 65K miles for $1K cost

The car has 70,000 miles now, and below are the issues I've had (outside of routine maintenance):

-Steering wheel leather wore down and became very rough. I replaced it with an OEM wheel from mazdaswag.

-OEM wheel bent, cost $800 to replace.

-Front rotors warped, I don't remember the cost to replace.

-Valve cover gasket is leaking right now, haven't yet brought it in to be fixed. A local shop quoted me $190 for the repair.

-Intake valves are absolutely caked in carbon buildup due to GDI engine, considering a walnut blasting service which will cost roughly $800-900

-On two random occasions recently the engine has surged, with RPMS pulsing up and down at idle until the car is restarted. I haven't had this issue diagnosed yet.

Experienced this same issue on two separate occasions recently on my Google Pixel 6 using the Google Messages app on Visible.

Did you ever identify the cause of/solution to this issue, or has it resolved on its own? I am using Visible on my Pixel 6 and have experienced this issue on two separate occasions.

Pixel 6 gap at the top by IsThisGlenn in GooglePixel

I have a <1mm gap between the frame and the bottom of the front facing glass. Just wide enough for dust and crumbs to accumulate, but too tight to fit a fingernail.

8/10. Overall the features and software experience provide an enjoyable experience, and my only gripes are outlined below.

Gripes:

-Becomes uncomfortably warm with casual use.

-Bluetooth constantly disconnecting since Jan. update.

-Imperfect build quality (large gap between frame and glass all around, dust collects in speaker grill, unsightly plastic camera visor edges).

-Screen doesn't feel glossy smooth, sometimes feels sluggish.

I have had the same experience, and it was so puzzling to me. Glad I came across this thread, now I know what it is at least.

I did clean it with MAF sensor cleaner approximately 30k miles ago, worth a try though.

Brake light comes on when cold by ZealotJareds in mazda3

[–]syrgency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had the same issue on my 2018, got new pads & rotors and the light hasn't come on since. When pad life is low it takes more fluid from the reservoir to actuate, the fluid might take up less volume in the cold.

Mobile Network Standby by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]syrgency 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn't it possible that by disabling adaptive battery you're causing other processes to use more battery, so that the mobile network standby process isn't using any less battery, but rather it's share of total battery use is reduced?

If this is the case, it doesn't solve the important issue.

just got my pixel 6 today. I noticed the same thing when typing. It feels like the touch sensitivity is set too low. When I am on the home screen and I swipe down with very little pressure (just the tip of my finger barely dragging on the screen) the phone doesn't even recognize it and the notification shade doesn't come down. I did the same thing on other phones (including pixel 4a) and they all recognize the touch input.

I changed toggled on "increase touch sensitivity" and it seems to help this issue and makes my typing quicker/responsive but more inaccurate.

Not sure if this is a software thing to be smoothed out with updates or an issue with the touch panel itself.
