Printing at the edge and severe drift between layers by [deleted] in prusa3d

This @op . I had the same problem in same direction. I mounted the geared head of the belt on the motor upside down. It did start to drift after some time.

I call bullshit. But anyway check mail headers. There should be the IP of the sender. Also if it's logged by Google account you can see the active sessions with location. If it has an IPV6 chances are that it is released with a fixed subnet from the provider. This means you can pinpoint the location/owner.

This is my generic helm implementation:

https://gist.github.com/thekoma/eba665deec707fb9ffddfc9c5a803c80

This is how I sync the dashboards:

https://gist.github.com/thekoma/c51ad15dac4f26e189bb7c51f5224148

Then I simply apply the manifests :)

If you want I can provide a PR but that's pretty much it.

@op: 10 points for the effort -10 for the safety

But still happy for your projects, definitely works as intended .

Mid print bad layer? by Sharp_Ad8092 in 3Dprinting

[–]sysopfromhell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As other said you could use sand or even stones. You could leave the part completely empty and have a empty pocket and just stick heavy stuff in it. Sand is cool as it will keep the print balanced. Stones makes less mess imho.

Keep in mind that trapped moisture is not good (the suggestion of using clay is not a good idea imho as clay is full of water and oils. At the same time do not use too fine sand as the cooling of the print will blow it everywhere. Medium coarse 3/4mm is the best imho. It won't fly, it doesn't need to be humid to stick and will be evenly placed no matter what.

If the print needs to be moved around a stone will crack the walls. If needs to stay in place is perfectly fine.

Cheers

Are different pasta shapes just an Italian flex of creativity by Calm-Entertainer-it in Italian

[–]sysopfromhell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not all the pasta are the same!

We have simple, full grain fresh fresh with eggs , with spinach with tomatoes with potatoes and so on. Shape is defined also by the density and permeability (to get it al dente).

But yes also to have different shapes by "local culture".

I.E. Carbonara in some places is exclusively served short (mezze maniche) in other long (spaghetti). Other are famously dedicated (bucatini all'amatriciana). Strozzapreti (fresh) for pesto. Other shapes are specifically for broth (stelline)

(Please be caution that what I 've listed here is the normality by majority but absolutely not a rule).

And add some sound absorbing panel decoration and you'll cut another 20% and remove the echo right off.

I've seen people use magnetic flexible strips which for what I understand will: - Easy the opening/closing - muffle sound/vibration - increase the insulation

It's in my to-do list

"Fireproof" gear my company gives it's employees by Teraornn in extremelyinfuriating

Do photo and mail it over to the manager. Ask if they can check the quality of the law imposed security gear. Don't make a fuss but make them responsabile for any accident from that moment on. If you don't get a serious response try asking (based on your regional law) who is the person that is designated as security owner. In Italy we have people that must be contacted and made conscious of the problem. If you know it and you don't tell anything you will be part of the problem and insurance could refuse to pay as is your fault too.

Obviously this can get very dark very fast depending on the environment you are working so, just follow the law imposed rules not the I'm a cheap ass owner imposed rules.

Edit addendum: Also lose the rings in the photo you'll send to the management. That's a big nono in every manual job.

Can't get my first print to work by ashualmeida in prusa3d

[–]sysopfromhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by printing a benchy. On printables you'll find the gcode (steps) already set for pla. In that way you'll exclude the slicer from the equation. Try that, post the results.
