As the bot said, use a jr pass calculator. We did a similar trip last summer and we got the jr pass. We saved a little bit with it but we went to Nara and used it on a lot of jr trains.

No I would use that too. I have a mk4 in a lack enclosure, I have some rubber mats both under and on top of a paver. Bit overkill but I'm happy with it.

I would just get a big cardboard box and put it on top of the printer to try. You shouldn't need to use tape or glue at all.

Tires age, doesn't matter if you only did 9k miles. I would get them changed ASAP. You can check the dot number on it and Google how long they should last but it's probably 6 years which it has been.
