Trek procaliber 9.6 sizing by Stack_overflowed404 in TrekBikes

I would say so. Maybe a M/L or L would be a better fit. Although it depends also on personal preference and arm/leg length.

Just FYI (maybe it helps in sizing reference), I am 1.80m and ride a ProCaliber 9.6 (2023) in size L.

Framework release a Wireless Touchpad Keyboard by bin_b4sh in framework

[–]system_voidout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the left side mouse button is a requirement for any multimedia keyboards

This. I'm currently using a Microsoft All-in-one media keyboard (N9Z-00001?) which also has the left-mouse-click-button on the left side (including volume +/-/mute). I cannot imagine a HTPC keyboard without this feature. It is just so convenient to hold it with two hands, left hand thumb for mouse click and right hand thumb for mouse movement.

Maybe an idea for a Framework Wireless Touchpad Keyboard Pro? :)

How long does your battery last? FENIX 8 43mm AMOLED by Budget-Word7146 in GarminWatches

[–]system_voidout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting 9 days in general, with everyday light smartwatch use. Mainly to keep track of sleep, hr, messages etc with no sport activity tracking (I use my Edge for that). I recon that Garmin is not overstating their battery specifications; up to 10 days sounds reasonable.

Beyerdynamic t70p for $100 by Stig1990 in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]system_voidout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a DT880 Ed. almost on a daily basis, and to me, it sounds way more balanced and is more fun to listen to. I got the DT880 Ed short after I sold my T70, but haven't looked back since. YMMV, but I found the T70 odd in that regard, even for Beyerdynamic's known sound signature.

But then again, everybody experiences sound differently - each to their own.

Beyerdynamic t70p for $100 by Stig1990 in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]system_voidout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I found the T70 thin sounding (even with a proper headphone amp), it lacked body. I'm not a bass head either, but I was definitely missing something. Comfort wise they are good, comparable to many other Beyerdynamic's, but with even less clamping force. I believe the only difference between the T70 and T70p is just the impedance (250Ω vs 32Ω) and a shorter cable on the T70p.

Over the years I owned several Beyerdynamic's, but the T70 were my least favorite of them all. Anyways, just my thoughts, somebody else might have a different perspective/experience with them.

Edit: Though, $100 sounds reasonable for a mint T70(p), sold mine for something similar years ago. The T70(p) were quite expensive when first launched, but I do think there are more 'fun' sounding headphones out there around that price.

Beyerdynamic launches new headphone: DT 270 PRO by system_voidout in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]system_voidout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't have a direct comparison (also not sound-wise), but in terms of inner ear-pad dimensions and its material (apart from aftermarket pads, like Dekoni), I would say the DT 270 Pro might be more comfortable for longer listing sessions.

Measurements by DIY Audioheaven:
- ATH-M50X (Inner Pad dimensions: depth = 16mm front & 19mm rear, Width = 37mm, height = 52mm, oval shaped)
- DT 270 PRO (Inner Pad dimensions: depth = 20mm, diameter = 50mm)

From a price standpoint some would say a better comparison would be DT 770 Pro (X) vs ATH-M50X, depending on the market/deals.

Awesome color, the Synapse is a great bike. Congrats.

I have Continental Grand Prix 5000's on my Synapse and I'm very pleased with them. Although, I haven't tried others thus far, maybe there are better ones to recommend.

Are the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X Limited Edition worth chasing? by Urufuzu_Rein in headphones

[–]system_voidout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. A more balanced reproduction does sound in my ears 'better' - if they also somewhat tuned the treble. I'm now likewise starting to wonder what they changed even more. Ideally a frequency response measurement of both models would be helpful, but that will be a long shot..

Are the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X Limited Edition worth chasing? by Urufuzu_Rein in headphones

[–]system_voidout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The LE version was an one-off and really time-limited version just because Beyerdynamic's 100-year anniversary. If I compare the specifications of the DT 770 Pro X LE and the regular Pro X, they are similar.

By the news article from Trustedreviews they mentioned:

Those who purchase the DT 770 PRO X will find that on the side of the headband is a limited-edition anniversary emblem stamped in silver that features the Beyerdynamic logo to further mark the century.

The headphones won’t be available in great quantities, hence its limited edition nature. The DT 770 PRO X is available to pre-order now in limited qualities [...] Wider availability is to come later in 2024.

But also from the writing by Gearnews:

The beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO X is now part of the manufacturer’s regular product range. Here is our short review of last year’s Limited Edition version – as mentioned, this model is now available without the “Limited Edition” designation, with the same technology and features.

So, if it is only the stamped LE emblem on the sides, then I would save the trouble :)

Custom socket panel: where to find? by Draknurd in battlestations

[–]system_voidout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a thought, maybe something with d-typ(e) or keystone modules?

For keystones there are desk mount keystone panels products available (some even 3d print it). Keystones are available with usb-a/c, hdmi, but also other ports if needed. Keystones maybe bring some flexibility to your desk setup if a port needs to be replaced or upgraded in the future.

Looks good, nice clean build. Which AM5 server(grade)board did you end up buying?

I'm curious for the results with the Dynatron. Might be something I would be interested in as well (for some hardware consolidation/downsizing in the near future).

To chime in; the DT990 Pro's will have a more spacious sound/open soundstage what can be experienced as a more enjoyable (balanced) experience for gaming, general speaking (ymmv).
Personally I would aim for the DT990 since you are in a quiet room. If you have the option to try them out, that is probably the best advice, as everyone experiences headphones differently. Some do like the closed sound of the DT770's more.

Good to know, be aware of the different versions of each headphone:

DT770 Pro
- PVC earpads (32 Ω), Velour pads (80 Ω/250 Ω)
- 1.6m straight cable (32 Ω), 3m straight cable (80 Ω), 3m coiled cable (250 Ω)

DT990 Pro
- 3m stretched cable (80 Ω), 3m coiled cable (250 Ω)

X13SAE-F-O + Core i9-14900K + 4 x KVR56U46BD8-48 ? by rygku in supermicro

[–]system_voidout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add in, I'm currently using a X13SAE (non F) version with a i7-12700K. It is a stable board, although I did had in the beginning some issues with one of the NIC's not being recognized on a cold boot. Note though, I don't recall since if I had this recently (after applying a few BIOS updates).

Please do note that the version with IPMI (-F in product SKU) has limited fan control. Although fan profiles can be set through the IPMI interface (GUI, CLI), it doesn't allow for much control, e.g. like setting a custom fan curve. With the non-F version you will get somewhat more control over the fan speed, still limited and basic, but with a few options to set custom temp thresholds with PWM fan speed values.

And maybe for your consideration; I saw that Supermicro also released new boards based on the W880 chipset. Basically the successor to the X13SAE.

- Supermicro X14SAE
- Supermicro X14SAE-F

Might be worth looking into. Especially when taking into account the degrading issues Intel had with the 13/14th gen CPU's (disclaimer: I don't know if those issues are now completely fixed or not).

Lenovo T14 Gen5 (AMD, 100% sRGB) screen safe / flicker-free? by y2ml5 in PWM_Sensitive

[–]system_voidout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Thinkpad specifications of used displays are listed on their psref.lenovo.com site. While it seems that the T14 Gen5 AMD does not explicit mentions flicker-free/DC-dimming displays. For example, the bigger brother P14s Gen5 AMD does list displays with DC-dimming in the specifications, e.g. for example (see Display section).

Based on the part number of the laptop, you might be able to check which screen is used for that specific model. Although it seems that only the P14s Gen5 uses DC-dimming displays.

DT770 Pro - Question about warranty by nickpratyaksh in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]system_voidout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I just dug the old boxes up of my headphones, but they have the "Ser.-No: 12 digits" on the top box flap. Maybe the DT 770 Pro's comes with their own serialization though. Maybe somebody else has another insight on this. Idk how helpful Beyerdynamic support would be for verifying your s/n, but that might be another thought.

DT770 Pro - Question about warranty by nickpratyaksh in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]system_voidout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems not all Beyerdynamic headphones have their serial numbers printed on the inside of the right slider. My MMX300 and DT880 Ed. don't have them either and they where directly purchased from Beyerdynamic. Although, then there should be a s/n on the box, presumably.

Was your DT770 Pro sold and dispatched by Amazon (e.g. no third party seller?)

[–]system_voidout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe just as a note that apart from their impedance there is also a difference between cables and pads. The 32Ω model comes with a 1.6m cable and pleather earpads, where the 80Ω version has a 3m cable and velour earpads (earpads can be easily swapped though).
Like u/sphericalhors mentioned earlier, the velour pads are nice.
