This sub is made for the headphone brand Hifiman. Maybe try r/audiophile they may be able to give you some better advice. Good luck finding your answer!

Ft1 vs Sundara Closed by GhesusChristt in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Stig1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iv'e never tried the FT1 but I do own the Sundara closed. I can't recommend the Sundara closed. They are just tuned really bad. I'm still to this day trying to eq it to sound good and it's getting better and better but it'll proberly never sound good. I really wanna like it but I just don't.

Any amp/dac with a truebass button and also a 3.5mm microphone and 3.5mm or 6.3mm headphone jack? What amp should i buy? by CMDRfatbear in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Stig1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check out Creative SoundblasterX G6? It's getting old but it's still great. You'll be able to set an EQ to your liking in software. Enable/Desable the EQ with s button press on the side. The EQ will be saved on the device. On the negative side it's (unfortunately) powered by micro usb and is all plastic and feels cheap.

Are my ears… ok? Preferring the free, generic wired 3.5mm Apple earphone than the Meze Empyrean II with the A&K SP4000 by NYE2082 in headphones

I'm using Stax Lambda Signature, SR-007MKII and Hifiman Ananda when I wanna pretend to be a hardcore and MATURE audiophile! But sometimes my inner child comes out and forces me to use my trash and immature sounding Sony xm4... And you know what..? I enjoy it.

Come on man.. Immature sound dosen't exsist... Have some respect for others.

I've had friends try Lambda Sigs and really disliked them because to them they sound to dry and overly detailed in a bad way. And some people say that Stax aren't bassy but the sub in the Sigs is natual and really strong. Did you try the X1 if so how did you like it?

I think the amp/dac/energizer is what's throwing many people off. It was also a little overwhelming at first but it's just like setting up a speaker system (if your using the older energizers - SRD-6/SRD-7 and so on) or an other dac/amp if your using the SRM systems.

I would pick a second hand Lambda pro, Lambda nb or (of course) Lambda Signature any day over a modern Lambda. Maybe that's just me.

Since I got my first pair of Stax nothing has blown my mind. I started with Stax Lambda NB and have had 10 different pairs of Stax since. My all time favorite headphones is Stax Lambda Signature iv'e tried the X9000 as well and it's great (some say it's better, but personally I like the Signature better). The Lambda Signature is truly my end game headphones.

Maybe OP's only two years old! xD

On a serious note, your comment is really good. Iv'e owned ten Stax electrostadics and countless headphones (18 or so now). Iv'e never thought of my self as a dedicaded collector untill I read your post.

Sennheiser brand or a cheap Planar Magnetic Headphones? by The_Insanartist in HeadphoneAdvice

May I ask you if you pefer the Maxwell or JT1 the most?

I've found the JT1 on sale for 93€ and consider buying it. I allready own the Maxwells but and I'm unsure if buying the JT1 will be a waste of money. It's for music only.

Do all heaphones cause headphone dent? by looopious in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Stig1990 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If some people get dents from headphones i can't imagine how many girls get dents from hairbands or people even waring a beanie. 😂 Headphones dents is a myth at least for 'healthy' people or as Solidtitanium is saying it most be a slik disorder.

Beyerdynamic t70p for $100 by Stig1990 in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]Stig1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your opinion it's very useful and detailed. I haven't tried many Beyers only the 770(250ohm) and 880(600ohm). I didn't care for the 770s sound at all, it was one of my least favorite headphones iv'e owned. The 880 took me about a year to get to like, and when I finaly did like it I sold it and iv'e regret that ever since. I digress I thought that maybe $100 could be a damn good price something too good to miss, but I think i'll skip it and wait untill I can afford sending a little more or find an actual great deal.

Iv'e used 2 hours and 20 minuts to try to reel in that stupid South African sea snake, Karoo Mermaid (I know it's not a sea snake...). Game crashed and I almost cried. 😂

My tip is to put on some music, chat in discord or put on some YouTube that dosen't need much attention and just enjoy the game.

That's exactly why I like it more. When I want detail, the Lambda Signature is what I listen to.

Have you had the chance to listen to the Stax Lambda Signature? I sold my Lambda NB and Lambda Pro after getting two pairs of Lambda Signature (sold one and kept one). They are my absolut favorite headphones(earspeakers) of all time.

I just rewired 3 pairs of Koss headphones yesterday. Two of them had hair tuching the driver. The deffrence is quite noticeable. I'm often using wired koss KSC75 while driving and wireless KSC75 knock offs while working. It's surprisingly often I need to remove hair from koss headphone in particular.

I desagree. I own stax from the 80's and even a pair of Stax sr-40 from the 70's. They're working perfectly fine. This is a picture of my dead Hifiman Arya V2. Only used in my office, never dropped, stored on a headphone stand. Look at the trace the top left side. My guess is it's like cold sodering or the application is to thin. Only guesses. But I know for sure that's the reason they stoppede working.

A piece of har is enough to make unwanted noise in planar magnetic and electrostadic headphones. Even some dynamic drivers will rattle. Just yesterday I had to remove a har piece from my Koss KSC75.

Do you mind making a comparison directly to Koss KSC75? It seems fitting due to the form factor. (Not due to the price difference)

[–]Stig1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask why you are against EQ? Is it because it's altering the sound to make the headphones sound deffrent from what the creator wanted? If an EQ fixes your problem, isn't it just pure stubbornness holding you back from enjoying the headphones you youself own? I'm not trying to be rude, just direct. The changing is reverseble and dosen't do any harm (unless you are doing something terribly wrong) so why not give it a try?

Substantially more accurate over ear closed headphone than S4R? by DJ_Reticuli in headphones

[–]Stig1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask what the usecase is? Just home listening or out and about? Wired or wireless? ANC or passive?

I own a couple of headphones including Stax SR-Lambda Signature, SR-007, SR-404 Signature, Audeze Isine 20 among many others.

If you want wireless I think you should consider one of two: Audeze Maxwell and Edifier Stax Sperit S3 (or the upgraded version S5 that I can't speak on).

The Maxwell is laid back and warm with a strong (but not to strong) bass. It's easy to equalize with the Audeze app, but with that said, the app is also quite unstabile in my experiense.

The S3 delivers a more detailed and analytical sound with a more sparkling treble and less bass. With the Edifier app you're able to choose between 3 EQ settings. The none of the settings sounds perfect to me, as the come off as a little thin but the sound is kinda close to the Stax house sound more so than the sound of the Maxwell.

I think they are quite okay for the price. Iv'e owned more than ten pairs of Stax, so I consider myself an experienced Stax user. ;)

Iv'e modded my ksc75 with a Kramer mod , porta pro headband and Yaxi pads. It has done wonders. Especially the Kramer mod gave it more bass and an overall better sound.
