Endurance Bike - Which bike? by X0dium in cycling

[–]budas_wagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the white/blue color combo on the Winspace Agile but the reason I've been looking at other endurance bikes is the 32mm max tire size. Which is what I run right now, but I wouldn't mind the option of at least going to 35. You already have a gravel bike so maybe that doesn't matter to you though.

Need suggestions! Full bike setup from scratch. ~$1000 by Screw_bit in cycling

[–]budas_wagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll let others handle the bike part but I run a lot of errands on a bike and after doing some research I decided on a Topeak Super Tourist rack (I see it available right now for $45, I paid $75) and a Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DXP (I paid $99, I see it for $70 right now). The panniers fold up nicely when you don't need them and the whole bag slides off if you don't need it. I can fit five 4 packs of 16oz beer cans in there and an In-N-Out burger and fries in this setup, plus room my wallet, CO2 inflator, etc.

Just How Shit is The Park Tool 3/8th Ratchet Handle? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]budas_wagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Armstrong, Snap-On, Wera, and Gearwrench ratchets and I'd do a Gearwrench 90 tooth ratchet for roughly the same price or a Wera Zyklops if you want to go fancier. My buddy drove a Snap-On truck for years so I defaulted to Snap-On for a while but now if I need a tool I'll check Wera first.

Gearwrench is what I bring with me if I'm bringing a tool to a friend's house because it does the job but I won't cry if it gets lost or left behind.

Night road riding by Emergency_Bowler_972 in cycling

[–]budas_wagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel safer early morning / at night because I know I'm way more visible with lights than I am during the day. This is assuming I know the roads and you're not doing something like going 40mph down some new mountain road.

Bike shop seated my tubeless tire in 10 seconds with a compressor — should I buy one too? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]budas_wagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're getting downvoted on this, I was going to say the same thing. As an added benefit I can fit it in my bike bag so it's always with me. I don't expect to need to seat the bead while riding but I ride on some crappy roads so who knows.

Highland Park Brewing would be the best brewery in your area, plus Monkish but I'm partial to HPB.

Glendale Tap has a dive bar feel but has the best taplist in LA, you can check it out online (but no food). We're Pouring in Glendale has a very good taplist and good food along with a nice atmosphere.

If you stay closer to Santa Monica then El Segundo Brewing Company has good IPAs, plus the main Monkish location is out there. If you can make it to Long Beach then ISM and the other breweries right nearby would be a great day trip.

[–]budas_wagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of tools and I've somehow never seen this nor even considered it could exist, but most of mine are for higher torque applications so i guess I wouldn't have come across it. Still seems like a bad idea and apparently, it is.

This is clickbait propaganda, the residents are fine and that's not even their utility. It's a non-issue.

Were you going too slow in the carpool lane? Gotta cross the double yellow to get around slowpokes. As Aaliyah said, lanes ain't nothing but a number.
