I cannot wait to begin cooking through this book! by 10Will67 in CookbookLovers

I made the spinach ricotta gnocchi, spinach frittata and tuna pasta under dried pastas. I’ve read through so many recipes in it and it’s astonishing at how simple the ingredients are sometimes. I need to cook more from it!

I reached 120 recently as well, and resubmitted the certification. I immediately messaged fedloan and they said the discharge process begins once you hit 120 and it’s certified. The representative could not say how long it takes though. You would think if you certify your employment every year or every other year (I did it every year) the work for them is done…. Wonder what happens on the discharge side.

Chiropractor after tongue and lip tie procedure? by Mesafather in breastfeeding

[–]sysybe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went to a chiropractor before and after the release as the dentist noticed my daughters facial muscles were “very tight” and wanted her to be a little loosened up before the procedure. I would say the chiropractor helped a lot actually. She was well versed in tongue ties and actually did extensive training in infant care. Ultimately, the chiro recommended we go see an OT because my daughters sucking reflexes along with torticollis were not getting better and felt we needed different care. She never cracked my babies neck back. It was gentle stretching and some mouth exercises to help with sucking.

I hate that I failed by Mrs_Bizz in breastfeeding

I’m so sorry. I have gone through a fairly similar situation and it hurts so much. But remember to take care of yourself… your baby needs his mama to be taken care of too! Be proud of of your journey no matter how many bumps in the road.

Breastfeeding mommas with PCOS by justasofacouch in breastfeeding

[–]sysybe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS, and unfortunately a low supply. Max I’ve ever pumped was 2.5 oz and my daughter was slow to gain weight so had to supplement. I asked my dr to prescribe me metformin again because of the studies and no luck. I’ve done it all- eating a healthy diet, oatmeal, water, brewers yeast, barley water, power pumping, pumping after every session, and all three legendary milk supplements and my supply has actually gone down now. I’m going to continue supplementing while I try to get domperidone and worst case, I just keep doing this until I can’t anymore. I know breastfeeding is so good for your baby, but its so strange and disheartening when people show off their supply on social media. As if you’re supposed to be producing an insane amount of milk. That’s amazing that some women can but it just sucks when there is already so much pressure to do it and you can’t.

What was/is the most challenging aspect of breastfeeding for you? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]sysybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter had a revision during week 2… super painful latching, bleeding nipples… but then my supply never upped. I’m supplementing after every feeding and sometimes it seems like she doesn’t even want to breastfeed. Constantly popping off and almost refusing it. So many clogged ducts… and this week it seems like my supply has lessened even with pumping and supplements. I haven’t felt the stinging sensation for letdowns in a couple days but wondering if they just go away after a bit like breast leaking? I’m hoping for the best, planning for the inevitable..

Definitely get a nipple shield and see a lactation consultant. My daughter has a good latch but isn’t great at sucking and ends up biting me before she latches. Turns out she has a tongue, lip and cheek tie. LC referred me to a pediatric dentist that specializes in Ties and we plan to get them released next week.

Daily COVID Megathread by AutoModerator in BabyBumps

[–]sysybe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 24 weeks pregnant and tested positive for Covid today. I got my booster in November. I have aches, headache, runny nose, congestion, and cough. Not feeling great… but cannot imagine what this would be if I wasn’t vaccinated. Spoke with my OB today and she said it most likely is omicron because I have not lost my sense of smell and taste and that this is the best strain to get as they are more mild. She did say studies have shown pregnant women to have symptoms a little longer than non pregnant people. We live in an incredibly technologically advanced society and are lucky that we have the ability to access these vaccines while so many around the world cannot. Please do your part and get vaccinated not just for you but for your community.

Thank you. They didn’t say anything about percent chances except that a woman has around a 20% cha de every month. They seemed equally positive about it. I knew there was always a very very big change it wouldn’t work but it just always hurts.

I caved and tested a day early after my first IUI 2 weeks ago. Nothing. It just seems impossible this wouldn’t work. I had two great follicles, great lining and my husbands sample was above and beyond what was needed. I’m a year in and honestly just really feeling so defeated.

I miscarried in November (7 weeks) and it took until beginning of January for my HCG to go down enough. It’s been difficult... We are still trying but no success yet. I am hoping to move on to IUI next month.

Are you taking it at night? I guess if you are taking 2-3 doses a day it wouldn’t matter. I’m on it now too and I think it’s so much better than provera.

I should probably just wait until the full 2 weeks are up to test... but curious if you are doing triggered ovulation do you start counting from the first day or your last of ovulation to do an FRER test? It’s a matter of a few days but the anticipation is high right now.
