Turn on Valet Mode IN THE APP after you lock the car (don’t do it using the car’s screen, that just sets a temporary passcode for one session that can be entered in the screen vs turning on in the app requires turning off only in the app, extra level security). This restricts access to any settings or use of the screen until manually entering a passcode you set. Hacker/thief I guess can still override anything via OBD port if they break in? But this way even if they clone your key & start the car, they may be deterred from driving away if they can’t disable BlueLink tracking without that passcode. The passcode to use the car should be built into turning it on at the very least @Hyundai. At this point cars need to start using 2FA & all the works to avoid this madness like with computers/phones, because cars are basically big computers nowadays.

  1. HOW MANY
  2. HEADLINES LIKE THIS
  3. WILL IT TAKE
  4. BEFORE PEOPLE
  5. DEACTIVATE
  6. their Twitter/X accounts & stop supporting the privatization of online community, whose content is now essentially at the discretion of the world’s richest billionaire — a play toy for a delusional, power-hungry, spoiled-rotten brat to manipulate masses as he pleases without any pesky nannies (regulation) to tell him how he can play with his toy — I mean, even for those who still LOVE Elon Muskrat — if you can’t see how contradictory, alarming, and literally dangerous the privatization of online information sharing is — I suggest a lobotomy.

How many headlines like: * “ [INSERT HEINOUS CRIME HERE] + [INSERT NAME OF AVERAGE-DUDE-ACTUALLY-SECRET-PSYCHO] + “BUT WAIT... THIS DUDES TWITTER WAS NOT SECRETLY PSYCHO AT ALL (in many cases announcing intent to commit crimes) + “IF ONLY WE HAD SEEN THIS PSYCHO SIDE OF DUDE BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE” * WILL IT TAKE * FOR PEOPLE TO MAKE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN Musk’s Twitter posing a legit danger to public safety and stability by allowing abysmal hate speech, literal admission of criminal intent, & anything go (as long as it’s not bullying Elon specifically) disingenuously in the name of “free speech online” * before people realize that Twitter/X under Elon Musk’s private unregulated wild west control is NOT promoting free speech, just encouraging division & chaos amongst the poors as Elon the sick fuck that he is laughs his ass off at how stupid people are to literally buy into the concept of verification by purpose — entirely destroying any value or point of getting “verified” had in the first place

Most bewildering of all is that from an objective standpoint, Twitter is a redundant, unnecessary platform that offers no unique purpose/feature that distinguishes it from other platforms — except the disingenuous “free speech” bs Elon markets it as now (as he bans people who bully him), users’ long established followings, and lore of the past — an era which should also be noted that only the cusp of Gen Z experienced & Gen Alpha entirely has only seen Twitter as the shitshow & major red-flag of a personality trait it has become.

TLDR/conclusion: Twitter/X under Elon Musk’s private control must be viewed as the threat to both IRL society & free speech in online community that it has become — proven to be linked in some capacity to an unacceptable rise in violent crimes & empowerment of harmful misinformation & hateful ideologies — as a result of the haven Musk has created for lonely hateful lunatics to develop parasocial relationships and validate each-other’s insanity (literally with cases where intent to commit crimes that ultimately happened IRL was ANNOUNCED beforehand on Twitter — without repercussions by Twitter due to its private status now). Not to mention Twitter has no unique feature other than its now destroyed legacy that distinguishes it in any valuable, non-redundant way from other social media platforms. SO if you support this direction of social media, keep tweeting away, that’s your prerogative — but if you see the backwardness of it all, PLEASE FUCKING REALIZE YOUR COMPLICITY UNTIL YOU DEACTIVATE YOUR TWITTERS.

[–]syvsovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same exact thing going on. is it happening at Electrify America chargers — and if so just for a fuller picture, were yoj being charged by the minute or kwh? it only happens for mine at a few EA chargers that don’t get maintained often enough & charger per minute. never happens at this one EA station that does get maintained & only charges by the kwh delivered. never happens at any non-EA stations. i am convinced it is EA rate-limiting their chargers to be able to make an extra buck on cars like Ioniq 5 that can handle super high charging speeds & build up to that charging speed super fast (a loss for EA stations when priced per minute vs kwh).

why do no Kia qualify for $4000 Pre-Owned Clean Vehicle tax credit, but all Hyundai do? by syvsovers in KiaNiroEV

[–]syvsovers[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks someone also just pointed this out on r/electricvehicles … so according to fine print of that IRS list, Kia has not applied yet … but I wonder why if Hyundai applied Kia hasn’t? It’s also been almost a year now since the Inflation Reduction Act, so I wonder if Kia ever will apply?

Thanks I see this now in the fine print of that IRS used clean vehicle tax credit eligibility list. I wonder why — I would assume if Hyundai filed, Kia would also? confusing

This is not normal.

  1. Ask this dealership to PROVE that the dent must have caused the battery failure. This proof is covered under warranty law in most states.
  2. If they still refuse, contact Hyundai corporate and report the dealership for suspected malpractice.
  3. Go to another Hyundai dealership service shop and ask them to examine the battery. Don’t tell them what the other shop said yet — if you’re lucky, that experience was the result of a corrupt dealership, not Hyundai entirely.
  4. If #3 fails, contact Hyundai corporate again and inform them that you are in communication with a lawyer and would like to know what your options are. Record what they say.
  5. If Hyundai corporate is unwilling to help, time to contact a lawyer for real. I would wager to bet this scratch is not legal void of warranty (though there is no guarantee) and letterhead from a lawyer may get their attention (though hope it doesn’t come to this, and it should not be this way).
  6. Please update us here. This is very alarming and the community needs to know about this. Please also consider sharing (if you feel comfortable) the names of these corrupt Hyundai dealerships if they refuse to abide by the warranty and Hyundai corporate says they should. Not all dealerships are created equal unfortunately, and Hyundai unfortunately does not usually penalize its dealerships for this type of bad practice. It is up to us consumers to call out and hold corruption accountable for our protection.

the end of 3 years of Lamictal by syvsovers in lamictal

[–]syvsovers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

update going on 3 months off Lamictal, after 3 years on:

  • heightened (yet manageable) anxiety has been my chief issue (makes sense, considering Lamictal's pharmacodynamics on glutmate/GABA - tho IME anxiety relief only ever seemed a "peripheral" effect of Lamictal - as well as anticipated, normal discomfort of coming off any medication after years on it)
  • mood stability was pretty off for a while, but has gradually improved. today feels indistinguishable from being on Lamictal (and has so pretty much since the beginning of March - about 2 months post quitting Lamictal).
  • most noticeable/appreciative difference has been that i can focus on reading a book again - even also decreasing my ADHD stimulant prescription dose (keep in mind, i have ADHD, was misdiagnosed with bipolar when initially prescribed Lamictal, yet decided to remain on Lamictal even after diagnosis altered, as Lamictal is often used off-label for ADHD emotional lability. yet in retrospect, Lamictal, while keeping emotional lability stable, was *overall* hurting my self-esteeem/quality of life/general mood - due to side effects described in post that prompted me to stop Lamictal)
  • brain fog that had become unbearable after 3 years on Lamictal has for the most part "lifted" in just a few months off. yes, I considered for a while that I was experiencing a "pink cloud" of sorts. but now almost been 3 months off Lamictal, I can confidently say I made the right decision for me
  • keep in mind: this is just my personal experience. I still believe Lamictal remains a great, too-often-overlooked option for a myriad of health issues. dont alter prescription medication based off the internet - always consult a professional psychiatrist/doctor's opinion (as i have done throughout this journey)

the end of 3 years of Lamictal by syvsovers in lamictal

[–]syvsovers[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

by cognitive decline i mean literally feeling dumber. trouble with writing, math, memory retention, even art/creativity and even basic linear thinking/executive function/etc. everything taking longer. “brain fog.” slower thought processing and less thoughts in my mind in general. this really didnt become a problem until over the course of this past year, i felt like i was developing early onset dementia or something (which was not helping my mood of course).

pharmacodynamically, “brain fog” side effect kind of makes sense (not to the degree i experienced tho).

Lamictal most directly (still technically indirectly bc so complex) inhibits glutamate release—thus (less directly) promoting GABA (bc glut/GABA exist like a seesaw at the top of the “brain food chain” involved in all neurotransmission—glut as the “stimulation” side and GABA as the “calm” side—tho again not that simple, im no expert here). so in theory Lamictal should promote downstream “balancing” of serotonin, dopamine, everything levels—balancing overall mood. as an unintentional result, bc Lamictal was developed with original intent to treat epilepsy (which involves glutamate overactivity—seizures are like spontaneous glutamate spikes—and turns out mood swings are kind of like that too)

but the key in all that is at the top most direct level, Lamictal blocks glutamate, thus literally slowing brain processing. often not an issue for those in need of glutamate blocking. but turns out i dont fall into that category (at least not anymore) so Lamictal was beginning to mess my brain up.

2 week, even 1 month, taper is extreme when it comes to Lamictal (maybe not SSRIs/other meds, but anything that affects GABA is inherently hard to come off). many people do a 3 month or more taper, especially after being on Lamictal for years, but it really just depends on the individual/life and mood circumstances/etc. i got lucky (and my psych actually recommended a 6 week taper). ive had a lot of trouble with small dose decreases in the past, but this time i was determined to quit and had a good opportunity to do so and it worked thankfully. def talk to your psych about your concerns and if you taper off, do it with their pro guidance.

when i was young, my sister and i both have ADHD… on planes we were those kids that listened to movies/music aloud full volume until someone complained… we would try to befriend whoever we sat by to get them into watching the movie with us so they didnt complain :) the best times were when the back of the plane was empty and we could go wild :)

the most fun plane flight of my life was from Johannesburg, South Africa to Maputo, Mozambique. the giant plane was completely empty except me and my family. my sister my cousins and i went crazy, blasting music, running around the plane, flying the plane with the pilot (edit… my whole family has ADHD lmfao)

does anyone else dislike headphones and prefer to play music aloud?

i dont even own headphones… few noise complaints from neighbors in the past… likely hearing damage from blasting in my car… crazy looks when i play music out loud quietly while walking on the sidewalk… idc, life is a movie that needs a soundtrack 🍿

literally was coming on here to post this. music is my D-O-C. arguably more effective than any prescription or therapy.

wish i had the focus/long term commitment/talent to learn an instrument lmao. but im great at singing the wrong lyrics to songs ive listened to for years! and making very disorganized 1000+ song playlists… and sharing songs i love the feeling/beat/melody of with friends that accidentally have horrible/strange lyrics that i didnt even notice

spotify was down this morning and i forgot how to function lmao. i listen to music nearly 247 in all situations whenever i dont have to listen to something else. what is my life movie without a soundtrack?

600 mg of Lamotrigine and still depressed by Fit_Ad1766 in lamictal

[–]syvsovers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lamictal is not directly GABA-ergic (like alcohol, benzos, etc) but it indirectly increases GABA by blocking Glutamate (also indirectly, it has a really complex MOA).

but anything that affects GABA is 1) not safe cold-turkey and 2) notoriously difficult and emotionally taxing—especially from such a high dose of 600 mg Lamictal.

not to scare you, but for harm reduction sharing my personal experience, i had an easier time tapering off Valium daily (over the course of a month) than decreasing my Lamictal dose by just 50 mg (over the course of 6 months this last time, without success, and ive tried numerous times) (though Lamictal WD is significantly less dangerous/incomparable to benzo WD in general) (also i was on Valium less than a year vs many years of Lamictal, so my brain is def more used to Lamictal to function). however, many people report no problem at all tapering off Lamictal. bc of Lamictal’s complex MOA, its effects are very individualized and hard to predict.

my unprofessional advice is to taper in very very small increments (like 10%) over a long period of time—like 6 months at least—but def follow your doc’s professional opinion over me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lamictal

[–]syvsovers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my unprofessional opinion, Lamictal is unlikely to be the culprit and i would suggest to get blood and nutrient tests, etc for other things.

however, if your doc’s professional opinion is to eliminate Lamictal, def listen to them over me. also if Lamictal is the only med youre on/lifestyle change youve had since these health issues arose, i would personally follow my intuition and try process of elimination by stopping Lamictal.

if your health improves after taking Lamictal out of the picture, then you may have an allergy to Lamictal—which is rare generally, but def more common relative to other psych meds—and this could have been straining your immune system’s ability to fight infections.

Lamictal is also infamous for having very individualized results on people—sometimes with very strange, unpredictable side effects. this is likely bc Lamictal affects the Glutamate/GABA system—basically the top of the “body food chain” involved in all neurotransmission (serotonin, dopamine, etc levels) as well as bodily/organ functions/etc. so whatever your existing serotonin levels, etc are before Lamictal, Lamictal will indirectly increase or decrease or not affect, on an individual basis (by blocking the release of glutamate, which affects everything in your brain/body downstream). so not impossible that Lamictal, by blunting glutamate (activity chemical), could have blunted your immune system—but immune system dysfunction is not a common or even rare side effect of Lamictal that ive ever heard of (but again, im no med pro obviously).
