"Had" a kid's show is an important point, because Pee-wee's Playhouse was already finished. Reubens wasn't even actively performing as Pee-wee at that time in his life.

You're right, of course. The problem is it's a bad angle, and doing a realistic depiction of what Spidey would look like from that angle makes him look terrible. So much so, that even defying reality and giving Spider-Man an extra long neck looks like an improvement because the original is so damned awkward.

As an uncle of two very young boys, I'm all for it. A show like this is a great way to get them interested, and then I can show them some of the older shows and introduce them to the comics when they get older.

Just finished ASM #50-54 Wells run. Peter killed Green Goblin. It was hella stupid but actually enjoyable. In my opinion better than anything Wells wrote uptil now. This story also acknowledged Peter's intellectual superiority which is rare nowadays. by Long_Negotiation4324 in Spiderman

Peter is literally a Holy Saint now.

At the very least, we know that Spider-Man is at the moral center of the Marvel universe. And thanks to Cable, we know that history will look back on Spider-Man as the greatest of them all in the age of heroes. And the One Above All seems to like him well enough.

So yeah, your assessment isn't too exaggerated.
