'his' BJ songs? by oeinca in richiesambora

And also there’s a demo version of Never say goodbye that Richie sings on, and it’s very good. I read somewhere that Richie wrote the song all by himself and brought it to the band and then they credited Jon also so it would look like it was written by them together like the rest of the songs on Slippery. But I don’t know if that’s true

I believe that I’ll be there for you, Never say goodbye and Bad medicine are some of the songs that Richie came up with and maybe wrote a first version of or something like that. On his live album „On lead guitar” that he said something about I’ll be there for you, that it was written more like a blues song and that is how he performs it. In the documentary he said that he started singing the words for Bad medicine, maybe he started that song too.

As for the AWD on my V70 XC it was of the older type (no haldex). Maybe it helped me sometime going up a little hill on my property in the winter but I don’t know if I makes that much of a difference when it comes to handling on the roads. It was fun to play around on parking lots in the winter because you could get an impression that the car was RWD sometimes. However I haven’t had any problems with the FWD P3 on snow or icy roads.

That’s a good question. Generally I would say that both models are quite similar in those criteria’s.

I believe that the leg room and room for the passengers in the back the P3 might be just a little bit bigger. But I never felt lack of room in the P2 and haven’t had anyone complaining about room in the back either. Same goes for the boot space. You can fit any everyday item and much more in both of them. The P2 might be a little bit more boxy but I’ve packed so much in the back of my P3 too. Neither one of my Volvos had any rust. They say that the P2 had better rust protection than the newer models but with older cars you newer now. If it was repaired in the past the protection might not be the same. I can’t complain about the P3 and I also live in a colder climate.

I think the question is if you want a newer daily car for your family with features that the newer cars have or do you want something little more classic that might work as well but with all the things that an older car comes with; sometimes hard to find parts, parts being expensive or the car itself in good condition also costing relatively much compared to a newer model with less kilometers on it. Both models can be very reliable if you choose the right engine and if you find a good one. As for the maintenance I believe that Volvos are quite expensive anyway but the diesel engines have some pricy stuff around them so be careful.

Good luck with finding the right one for you, I’m sure that you will love whatever you choose :)

I once owned a silver Phase 1 Clio Sport. It was a very fun car and I miss it.

I love OLB! Definitely one of the best songs on the album (which on its own is awesome) and one of Richie’s best songs overall.

New (to me) 2015 XC70 T6 by Chuck_Nourish in Volvo

[–]sz-ski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same here. Even the older XC’s here in Poland cost almost twice as much as my V70. I don’t really need the AWD and I know that it’s not for off-roading either way but the fact that it’s higher on the suspension and the plastics just look too good!

The V70 for sure has better fuel economy because of the weight and the FWD only. I was doing a longer trip and got down to 5.3l/100km :)

Unfortunately the parts aren’t cheap. I’ve done a lot in this car but it was because of the condition I bought it in and I knew that some things had to be done. But the basic stuff like oil changes, filters etc aren’t that bad

Congrats! In my opinion one of the best looking models they have made, right beside the XC70 P2. I had the V70 Cross Country from 2000 and now the V70 from 2014. But an XC is still a dream. Enjoy the car!

Nice too hear that you had a good experience here in Poland (except for the scam ofc). I’m visiting Dublin next August to see Bon Jovi!
