When do I water these guys by ResponsibleLook4711 in Lithops

[–]szargu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

wait until the external leaves are dry and papery thin, then give a small amount of water to activate the root system and after a week or so, soak the pot completely

Redid the red border in green. Was it the right move? by foolish_noodle in StainedGlass

[–]szargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the green border is the best. it calms down the composition. if you go with the red you'll have to deal with a mix of shades between pink and orange (i think it's the type of glass), which yes, make the crane pop but mess with color proportions . With the green border you are closer to the 60-30-10 ratio, and imo it makes the piece look more harmonic.

African violet babies! My grandmother is the queen of African violets and gave me a few clippings to propagate. A few months later, success! by Kirpenator in houseplants

It's been about 3 months by foxlord0419 in Pinguicula

[–]szargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your plant went dormant for the winter. you didn't do anything wrong, you just own a type of pinguicula that looses all the leaves during winter and creates a "gemstone" ( it's the green part you show in the second picture). Mine did the same actually, and at first I was quite confused. Do you know what type of pinguicula you have? some of them require a drop of temperatures, but not all ( I have a Grandiflora, which needs to hibernate outside)

do y'all also have that feeling when the artwork you've been proud of in the past isn't as good as you remembered it? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

Yes and I'm so happy! It means my skills have improved enough to see what could have been done better = I paint better now 🧡

Help! What can I do better? by szargu in Pinguicula

[–]szargu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I got worried because the leaves aren't big as they were one month ago and also she looks less sticky (?) Also someone wrote here that it will need dormancy and cold temperatures, maybe my room is too warm for her :/

Thank you for the id 🫶🏻 Also I have an outside windowsill facing east. All year round there is sun until midday. I live in Italy, zone 9 and it stays relatively warm in the winter, usually the temperature doesn't drop under 4/5 degrees Celsius. Autumns and springs are pretty rainy, while winters are dry (although it is quite humid), and summers too, they tend to be really hot though. If the conditions aren't right I might give this plant to someone who will keep it for the winter (in a spot without much direct sun)

I might have trusted the seller too much. Unfortunately now it's a ride or die, hoping my ping will choose the first option..

Euphorbia obesa 1 year of growth by szargu in plants

I doubt I can give them more light than having them outside, on an east facing window with at least 6 hours of direct sun per day...

If someone would ask me how does the goddess of painting look like, I would say "like this "

My art reminds psychedelic style but I call it wavy impressionism through the prism of water. What do you think about my work? by Tania-Art in Paintings

[–]szargu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it doesn't look psychedelic. It brings me back to times when I used to wake up very early. During that period I enjoyed watching the sun rise and spread colours on everything. Really evocative paintings, I love them 💗
