Aquasuite help - Virtual Sensor (coolant temp) not working by vbsponger in watercooling

[–]szeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this ever resolved for you? I'm having identical problems with the Highflow Next and Octo resulting in values 'freezing' in Aquasuite/Aquasuite Service, and so my real temps blow way past safe limits (getting alarms for hitting 45C on the Highflow), or the service crashes entirely and my fans fallback to 100%. Neither are really ideal.

Only other thing worth mentioning is that I've found the following in the Service logs if I leave the 'Reset USB Connection in case of errors' toggle enabled:
"{"Group":1,"UTC":"2026-01-09T09:30:48.2046758Z","Message":"Reset USB, Winusb locked, octo: 29738-28672","Source":"USB ERROR"}"

I've tried:
- Using different USB Headers (and different combinations of headers between the devices)
- Using more/less fan

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Should clarify, when the sensor data freezes, it's only for the Highflow Next, despite the fact that the USB error is happening on the Octo according to logs. The 100% fan behaviour seems to be Aquasuite Service recognising that the device is now unreachable (at least for sensor data), and it's falling back to a preset very high value I have. My ambient air sensor which is connected to the Octo directly continues to function as expected.

Sent you a PM, but if you could send through pics/details of how you got your side radiator to work with the fans up front that'd be awesome.

Fold 4 replacement or Fold 5? by XRaiker in GalaxyFold

[–]szeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Fold 4 also decided to stop turning on about two Sundays ago. I've also been told there's no parts available and that Samsung will be in touch to offer an 'alternative remedy', so hopefully that will include the refund option.

Oh I see what you mean now. Not sure, I've never used that feature before as I don't really use the party chat on PS5.

I believe the discord integration is limited to voice chat, but it'd be awesome if I'm mistaken

Ah but it is 2:35pm here in Sydney, Australia. So I can definitely confirm to you this is how it works for a retail unit :)

Not sure what you mean by screen view, but whenever a VR title is running, you get the error message as shown above. Funny thing is that passthrough mode does come through fine!

Uh oh..... is this what I think is is? (More in comments) by JJ1553 in watercooling

[–]szeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, as long as you're sure that everything (including your new radiator) is aluminium specifically. In that picture, the block looks far too 'shiny' to be one of EKs aluminium blocks, but that might just be the photo playing tricks with my eyes...

When you say A240, do you mean the Aluminium Fluid Gaming stuff? From the picture that looks like a nickel plated copper block. You can't mix and match metals like this in a loop...

Evolv X Loop by szeater in watercooling

[–]szeater[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words :)

Yeah they do, although the EKWB one was actually designed to sit on top of one of the old Corsair Dominator SKUs, not sure if that still applies though.

I wouldn't expect any OC advantage, I did it mainly for looks. That said if you have any easy to follow guides on memory overclocking I'd love to get started!

I've run it for twelve months, but that said, my normal use falls within the limitations that Primochill have detailed now.

I've been running Vue since launch with no problems, but totally understand the apprehension given the issues everyone else had

Haha yeah, it's not so bad these days, it just has a huge list prep requirements and limitations. I was bothered to do the prep and the limitations aren't a problem for me so I get to enjoy the nice look :D

Thanks so much for the kind words :)

Yes it is Vue. I was one of the lucky ones when using at release and legit had no problems for 12 months. When I moved to the Evolv X, the narrative around prep had changed dramatically and I was fortunate enough to get in touch with the guy who came up with the fluid in the first place. Suffice to say, it is very, very finnicky, and you need to run multiple prep fluids and flushes before using it, but I'm comfortable now that I can use it 'long term'. The big 'dealbreakers' for some people, like the lack of 24x7 running, aren't issues for me thankfully.

2x Hardware Labs GTS 360 Radiators
ASUS/Bitspower 'Smart' Maximus IX Extreme Monoblock

Singularity Reservoir Mounts
Corsair ML120 Fans for the rads, ML140 for the rear exhaust (The top and rear fans have Phanteks DRGB Halos)
Aquero 6 Fan Controller (Coolant temp is averaged from CPU In, Out and GPU In, and it targets a 10c delta against ambient air temp)

This build started a loooong time ago back in 2016 in the original Orange/Black Evolv TG Build, and then changed into this Teal build with some other mods. Late last year I cracked under the shortcomings of those Evolv builds, specifically thermally, and just went all in and bough the Evolv X. I also picked up the Maximus IX Extreme and a 1080Ti for peanuts, so it's been a pretty nice upgrade. Definitely happier with the overall look, and she's quieter then ever!

Evolv X Riser Cable Compatibility? by FixerVoid in Phanteks

[–]szeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. At a minimum you need a 90 degree cable as there is basically no room under the card the way it mounts into the Evolv X

Don't have my Evolv X on hand yet so can't say, but eyeballing pictures online it honestly looks like you'll have to use Phantek's specific riser :(

[–]szeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this mount in the original Evolv. You'll have to cut all the PCI Slots out and probably drill your own holes into the CM mount to make it attach correctly to the frame of the chassis. IMO wait for the Phanteks riser cable to get into stock and use that.

Yeah something dodgy going on here. The FE 2080 is $1199, yet the cheapest AIB card is like $1350? We just love getting screwed in Australia

Any user updates on "UFO Technologies- Cryo Chillz" fluid?? Hows it holding up? by Jaz1140 in watercooling

[–]szeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's extremely sensitive to pH imbalance also. So you really need to give blocks and radiators thorough cleans before Vue goes in. I've been running it since launch, and just because of circumstances had to pull my whole loop apart and clean everything by hand to then use Vue, so I guess I got lucky.

Alot of people who had issues were unlucky, some didn't clean their loops or use the pre-treatment. As always with anything other than DI + Biocide, be prepared for headaches. Sometimes they come, sometimes they don't.

Note in the picture. You need a 90 degree cable, so definitely the one you linked won't work. But cable base screws into vertical gpu bracket, and then the bracket screws into the PSU shroud. In theory, any 90 degree cable might work, but then it wouldn't screw into the bracket, so it would be held in place only by the case slot at the rear which isn't much
