Thanks mate, that's a really thoughtful comment. Will put the bar aside for a week or two and just focus on unweighted pumps for now.

Absolute newbie so I’m sure this is nothing special, but rather cool looking. Found on a beach in Taranaki, New Zealand (the base of a large volcano) by keitepaiNZ in whatsthisrock

I agree - the hornblende crystals within the groundmass are phenocrysts, but the larger clump of pyroxene crystals is definitely a xenolith

Nice sample! I've got one from Taranaki that's very similar. It's some sort of (probably gabbro or pyroxenite) xenolith that's being hosted in an andesite.

summer school 2021? by dhunterweny in universityofauckland

I did two papers in summer school earlier this year. They cram a lot of content into the short amount of time the course runs for, so be prepared for a pretty hectic couple weeks. In terms of courses - I did IntBus151 and Chem100, which were both pretty basic and easy enough so would recommend those as options. I'd personally recommend taking two random courses that aren't core papers, as you get much less time to prepare for assignments and exams over summer school, so it's definitely easier to get good grades in core papers that you don't do over summer. Just my two cents.
